      HORRIBLE Night Terrors last night...

I suffered from really bad night terrors as a kid. I used to have to see a psychiatrist they got so bad.

Now I'm 20, and I had an awful fit of them last night. I'm under some stress at school and there was a nasty fight over the weekend that left me with a huge, bloody black eye... Other than that, I'm totally fine.

I kept having a waking dream and it was a horrible storm outside, constant thunder and lightning, and felt completely and utterly alone and detached, I just grabbed the covers and held them over my head.

I woke up around 6am and just stayed awake to avoid more. I was sweating like crazy, I felt like I just jumped out of a swimming pool.

      Fucked up shit, guys...

I am so sorry. That sounds frightening. I used to have night terrors when I was very small. I don't really remember what they are like anymore, but back then I know they were quite disturbing. Has the stress level in your life gone up? Is there any reason why you could have lapsed in this? What have you done differently than you had been doing when you didn't have them?

I knew i had to wake up real early and finish writing a paper and it was already after 2 so i was kinda scared of that. Some of the nightmares involved me actually missing the paper deadline (im a scholarship student at La Salle and I take class and grades very seriously).

And to be honest, I went to bed with a lot of hate in me for the people in involved in the fight. A ton of my friends were fighting, i tried breaking it up, and i got a big gold class ring with a huge rock on top to the eyeball - it sliced me up good. I just went to bed shaking from the hate, contemplating the horrible things i want to do to this guy. In my half awake/half sleep state right before i went out, i was physically visualizing breaking both his knees with a baseball bat. However, i never got the satisfaction of experiencing that or anything else in a dream, i just had straight up nightmares that felt never ending.

and PS... I was just listening to Shine on you Crazy Diamond live

Perhaps you should asses your feelings. I know that seems stupid; I know you know why you are mad, but does it go deeper than just the eyeball punch? All of these stresses are probably your problem. Perhaps if you purge them somehow, you could be rid of the terrors. Write down what you feel, talk with someone you trust about it (perhaps even the guy you have resentment for in a civil manner if possible). Practice relxation techniques before bed, force yourself to have a good attitude about life, perhaps even trying to turn off your internal dialoug might help...I'm no expert, but it seems to me that stress and deep hatred is your primary problem. Try to remedy that. It could only go up from there.

Oh, and great choice in song.
