Moving mouths

When talking to a co-worker a couple of days back about dreams he mentioned that he has never had a dream where peoples mouths have moved, he always hears what they would be saying in his mind and that is all. Also he seldom makes eye contact in a dream. Other than one single dream where i heard someone talk in the centre of my head, while there mouth wasnt moving and they weren't looking at me, i've never experienced this. Let alone found someone for whom it is the norm. Does anyone else always dream like this?

I have not looked for such things in my dreams. I guess I take for granted that people move their mouth when they talk.I imagine if I payed attention to their mouth I would see it move. I also imagine that I would be able to make them not move their mouth when they talk. It is just a dream, after all. If you feel like communicating telepathically at the time, you will.

The next time someone tries talking to you in a dream without moving their mouth, you should say, "Where's your dummy, you ventriloquist?" Let us know what he/she says back! I bet you'll get an interesting response.

Everyone dreams differently. Perhaps this is just your way. Don't worry about it. You can change it, in LDs if you learn to control them in this way. If I were you, I wouldn't worry about it. Perhaps communicating 'telepathically' in your dreams is just more conveniant for your mind.

Ahh, so I'm not the only one :P

I was just talking to a friend about this earlier. I never actually speak to people using my mouth and they never speak to me with their mouth in my dreams, i just hear it.

Yeh it's not me but a friend of mine, interesting to know there is someone else out there the same black sheep!

Personaly my dreams have always had people moving there mouths as normal, bar the one i mentioned, which is why i thought it a bit strange. I've also met a few people who dream in black and white, which i have once or twice. Other than that, most people i talk to (none of which are lucid dreamers) have dreams which are just like waking life in that they talk the same, other people talk the same, and are in color.

That's awsome, but like Gwen said, everyone dreams differently.
