ouch man, i've never experienced pain like that and i dont plan too lol. |

hmmm.... pain... that's a tough one. I guess it's how you define pain. I've had discomfort, you know, like when you start to strangle yourself accidentally with your bedsheets and that feeling of being trapped translates into something similar in your dream, or the pain of my bladder being full will translate into some discomfort in my dream. |

I must not fear.Fear is the mind-killer.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain
Get this. I have actually died in a dream! I was in a car on the freeway which suddenly hit a bump becoming airborne. the car flipped upside down while in the air and the roof ripped off. I felt my head poke out through the air and my head was torn off by our car going over another whilst my head hitting the top. I saw dead black after that and then started dreaming a totally different dream. |

i remember feeling pain in a dream the other night.. i was walking along and looked into the sky and saw a nulear missle heading toward the ground a few miles away.. i pointed up and everyone started to freak out and they were all running as fast as they could in the opposite direction... then all of a sudden i was on top of a building trying to run from the expllosion. i then tried to run and jump to another slightly lower building. i just missed the edge of the other building at started to fall to the ground. when i hit the ground i heard both of my legs snap and it was very painful. then as the shockwave from the explosion hit me i felt my skin start to desentagrate and tear off ... just after that i think i started another dream. i have dreams of nuclear missle in the sky alot . very distressing . this is why im going to try to start having lucid dreams . so i can get rid of them |

Reality is only a state of mind....
Pain in my dreams is weird, but it's cool cause nothing happens. Once I had a dream I was in an airplane, and a monkey pulled out my two front teeth. I freaked out and while still dreaming I was able to feel my gums from where my teeth used to be. I woke up and immediately ran to the mirror and my teeth were there. Another dream was that a cat was bitting my feet. It sucked but like I said, nothing happened in "real" life. |
|
Ugh I hate that feeling. I had bad experiences with those kind of dreams. I remember that i was in this situation where these animals/dinosaurs/monsters would hunt and eat me and my friends even though we ran. The weird part is that no matter what, they would eat me slowly and then I would restart all over again back to the beginning and experience the whole ordeal again, only to be eatan again. |
|
I've never really felt pain in my dreams that I recall. Heck 've always been weird when I came to lucid dreaming, but in the past I've a dreams (non-lucid) where I've been shot and "killed" or fall down a pit and "die". |
|
wow that must have really sucked having a dream like that at that age. i have experienced being dead in some dreams but never paralized from it . it became more of a third person thing where was looking at my dead body kinda like out of body i guess. dont remember anything after that. |

Reality is only a state of mind....
Whenever I am sexually deprived or if I just want to, I can sleep orgasm, and I don't mean like wet dreams.(I'm female) It's like a full out orgasm I completely experience the pleasure and everything, but I can also control my dreams, although I don't normally. The first sleep orgasm I had happened randomly over nothing sexual, after that I could just sort of do it whenever I wanted, and I can put whoever I want in the dream with me. Although, I really like to avoid controlling my dreams...how else can my subconcious tell me things if I'm all messing it up? |
|
I had a lot of falling dreams in my childhood and I always hit the ground and it hurt like hell. After impact I would usually crawl on the ground for a little with my legs broken and then wake up. |
|
Probably the worst pain I've ever felt in a dream came from a series of dreams I had when I was probably eight or nine. They all consisted of Ronald McDonald kicking me in the junk repeatedly. Yeah, with those big, red, floppy shoes. I had always known there was something not-quite-right with that guy. |
|
I can't recall having pain in dreams but I've been killed several times. I've fallen off cliffs, fallen from outer space, stepped on by an elephant (no shit), shot, etc. |
|
Last night I had a dream I was a cop and a lady pulled out a colt .45 and when I went to shoot her all I heared was a clicking noise that came from my gun (a nice example of a device not working), then she pulled back the hammer to her gun and blew a nice hole in my leg and said "Geuss I'll just leave you here bleed to death!" And I looked at my leg and it started hurting like crazy, then I woke up. |
|
Well, I could get kindof phychological here and go into great depth on how we can experience pain, or the lack thereof, in dreams. But I won't, that is unless some one wants me too. |

"Everyone wants to be the star of their own movie. No one wants to be a support cast..." - Leoj
"Everyone thinks that that point of "The Rtex Show" is that Rtex gets what he wants. When in reality "The Rtex Show" Is really the long sad tale of what happens to Rtex before he dies." - Leoj
"I keep trying to find the cookie cutter that is responisible for what's cooking in my head, but I digress." - Leoj
Thats true Rtex. Pain and other feelings in dreams (like Taste, Smell, Adreniline, Pleasure) can occure, but it depends on the vividness of the dream. In a non-lucid dream you might get stabbed or shot and you may feel some sort of dulled sensation, this is probably cuz your not fully aware. When lucid though, your dream becomes so vivid it is almost like reality, so your mind can trick you into feeling pain and other feelings. |

The other night i had a dream a killer whale had attacked me and it was clamping down on my side. It was weird because i really felt some of the pain.Like it was really happening. I cant figure out why i would feel pain from my dream but it was strange. |

I've experienced pain in dreams more than I care to remember; one time, I was in my room with the lights off and a huge creature stepped on me. I felt the pressure and hurt on my chest. I've also felt pain in SP, like someone was gliding a knife along my neck. |

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

The mind just puts in the feeling you would really have, I got into a knife fight with a cop for fun and it actually felt like he had cut open my wrist. |

I don't know about pain, but I can surely feel tickling. They're non lucid dreams anyway, but I can still feel them. Sometimes it's annoying because it's supposed to be a nightmare, but the ghost or the villain starts tickling me and I'll be left wondering whether I was supposed to be scared or annoyed. |

I have to disagree on the emotions part. I have felt emotions soooo strongly in dreams before that it was almost crippling. I could barely move from just the power of the emotions. I think this is because emotions are more primal and in waking life you supress them to a point of almost non existence but in your dreams part of your rational mind is left behind and your basic thoughts and feelings break through with full force. |

I accept that my reality is always a dream so if something changes I know I'm right.

I once dreampt that I was walking along the sidewalk and this group of thugs came up to me, robbed me and shot me in the chest. It was unbelievably painful and so emotional I can't even describe it. I woke up sobbing and holy crap was I thankful to be alive and safe in my bed. In reality pain is triggered by whatever and then processed in the mind and your brain tells you to feel pain. So in the dream your brain just makes you feel it. However, when I'm in an LD I find that I don't have pain because I know that what is happening is not real and therefore nothing can hurt me... Aren't our minds amazing? |
