Ok, so, is it wrong to completely go wild in dreams and use them to the max? I'm talking like killing sprees, terrorist acts, dream sex, drugs, Xtreme turkey hunting, and being a wild maniac? Is it ok to do that in dreams or is that over the line??

Certainly, you never get to do this in real life. Why deprive yourself of the fun? :D
Extreme Turkey hunting? :?
Like some say: "If you have to ask if the shirt is dirty, it is".
Of course, I think it's really not so much "is it completely wrong?" as "is it completely wrong for you?" because it's all relative. What you may consider good others may consider bad, or vice versa. The final decision belongs to no one except you, even if every single other member of society disagrees with what you believe.
Plussss, where else can you experiment with morally extreme acts without fear of retribution slash people/turkeys actually dying? As I develop my lucid skills, I fully intend to get a bit atrocious to see if there's insight to be had.
Also, given that you're responsible for the creation of any victims, sex partners, pills/herbs, or evil empires that you murder, sleep with, ingest/smoke, or dictate, the objects themselves serve as tools to aid your personal growth. If you sponsor the notion that anyone can do something horrible in fertile circumstances, then it'd serve you to examine the consequences of your actions in order to better understand your filthier impulses.
Everyone's got em.
Anyone up on the stats re: dream drug addiction?
Darrell
Dream drug addiction? Take a dream anti-drug pill. It's all limited by your beliefs and stereotypes.
I think going all out can only aid you, make you psychologically better. This way, you can live out your wildest ideas and fantasies, satisfying your mind with absolutely no consequences.
I see no problem with it. It's essentially your own "World of do-as-you-please."Quote:

Or every dirty deed ever shown on Saturday Night Live.
It's people like you who fuck up what could be a decent society. Dreams don't have anything to do with that.Quote:

Don't be so hard on the guy - he's asking an honest question. :nono:Quote:

And would you rather someone do all these things in real life, or in a dream world? Think about that.
All humans have the instincts for sex and violence - what better place to release those urges than in a dreamscape where you can't hurt anyone? The only person you have to answer to is yourself - do as you please as long as it harms none.
Great answer Burns!
Also, there are no STD's, and nothing is taboo in dreamland.

What about raping girls in a LD? Doesn't that go too far?
In my lucid dreamworld there are rules and morals. Just because when I kill someone in a lucid dream and I wake up after, I feel sick for what I did. My rules don't make my dreams less fun.
I don't really care what you guys do in your dreams, but I do think there are (or there should be) limits.
Well, then that's fine for you. But what others do in their dreams doesn't hurt you in any way. Better it happens in dreams than in real life, right?Quote:

I don't see any problem. By the way, law explicitly states that you can think (and dream) whatever you like, as long as you don't act upon it in real life.
I even think it's a great outlet for those of us who want to do bad things.
No doubt about that.Quote:

Well, let's think about this for a second. Any LD you'll have, you're going to remember. I've pretty much come to this conclusion after personal experience and reading through this place. So naturally everything you do in that LD you are also going to remember. Let's say you go off and have sex in an LD. Why? Because 1)You're not going to get an STD, and 2)It's fun. You wake up and remember how much fun it was. So the next night you attain lucidity and try it again. It's still a lot of fun. You're going to wake up again and remember how much fun it was to have sex. Now, couldn't this carry over into your waking life? Remembering how much fun it was to have sex in an LD, let's say you get the idea that you want to do the real thing.Quote:

What's stopping that lust and urge to have sex from happening?
It seems perfectly logical that what you do in an LD could carry over to and have an affect on your life in the real world. So in conclusion, I think that you should set limits for yourself in your LD's, lest they have a negative affect on your real, waking life. You said "what others do in their dreams doesn't harm you in any way." Really now? Let's replace the whole "sex" situation with a murder spree. Someone who was LD'ing decides to kill a lot of people night after night, LD after LD. What's stopping that urge from carrying over into their real, waking life? It could be potentially dangerous. There should be limits.
The key is everything in moderation. You can get out of control with anything you do life - this is no different.
The whole thing with sex, in real life what stops me (unless I get totally trashed and can't think clearly, luckily this case hasn't happened yet), I'm always going to have the thought of STDs, or getting the girl pregnant. And I have sex a lot in my dreams, but its not affecting any decisions I make in real life. I guess it just depends on your personality and your ability to keep dreams and reality separate.Quote:

And the killer... well then there's something wrong them. I've never had an LD where I went on killing sprees because I thought it was fun. I don't think it can be fun. I mean yeah I play alot of FPS, but when something like an LD feels real and I can feel emotions, and it would feel like I'm doing it for real, I couldn't go through with it. So again, I guess it just depends on your personality.
You can do these extreme things, but I doubt you'll find them satisfying.
People usually commit these acts in the real world because they feel weak and powerless, and want to exert their power over the world and show others they are powerful.
But there's no need for that in dreams, because our power is already ensured.
That's an excellent philosophy.
But what about doing something because you know you can. For instance, riding a nuclear bomb as it is dropped somewhere, a la "Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb"

It sounds like you mean, "doing something because it looks fun." In that case, if it's impractical in real life, the only fun you'll ever have doing it is in your imagination, so it's tautological.Quote:

I'm sure dreams can influence your waking life, but it's not like that. Plus, I don't think it's fun to kill people in a dream without a valid reason (self defense, villains, and other stuff like that). Take your dream to extreme, but... keep it a dream :P . I mean, instead of killing people, why don't you summon a giant dragon or zombie or robot or something like that and destroy it? It'll be much more amazing, and you won't worry about doing it on real life. (Unless you start believing in flying dragons that can spit giant balls of fire =P)
And about dream sex, it doesn't go too far. I guess you won't do it on waking life, because the two "worlds" are kinda different. Do you feel guilty when you do it on your dream, like if your dream partner would become pregnant? You have no worries. Plus... again.... you could just summon a demi-human creature like a vampire, or angel, or something like that. Now tell me... it won't make you desire sex insanely just because you had it on a dream, will it?
Terrorist acts... I don't know why someone would do that on a dream.
I won't even mention drugs. Using drugs in dreams can be even more stupid than using them in real life. If you want to feel "out-of-control" sensations in your dream, there's many other ways to do it.
If you want to kill yourself in a dream, just jump from a building. Chances are... you'll be flying :P .
However, it's YOUR dream. You can do whatever you want. But, as Burns said, moderation. Don't overdo it.
ok, well i was away from my computer for like a day or so... umm yea Xtreme Turkey Hunting is when you go wild huntin turkeys, machine guns, rpgs, stone throwing, ect... yea well I see,
ok, i see, it is better to go wild in dreams :) instead of in real life, like a place to releive stress. :)
That's just your theory. There hasn't been one documented case of a murder spree due to lucid dreaming- or anything of the sort. In the case that someone did have the desire to do any of these things, lucid dreaming can act as an outlet and prevent them from doing them in waking life.Quote:
