If you wanna see something beautiful in a dream, just look at the sky.
Most of the time it's not obvious, but theres really cool, wisps and other things in it and it changes from person to person.
one time in a non lucid dream, i was at some crazy rock temple/building/house thing in the middle of a jungle or seomthing, and the sky was amazing. it was all these crazy dark hues and the northern lights were spread all over the sky, and the stars were really big and much brighter than normal.
Once I was on the beach near me and it was a really nice day, the sea was really warm and the temperature was perfect, there was no litter or anything. That was a really nice dream
That question is too difficult to answer, so I will go with the most obvious dreamscape.
It took place at Niagra Falls, but it was different. The falls were about 20 feet of rock above the lake, and the falls had frozen over. The sun was setting, and barely melting the ice, which would drip down into the lake below. In the background were trees from a tropical jungle in front of the pink-orange sky.
My favorite place might be the dream where they had square steps that made a parabolic path down and back up. In the background, there were walls except everything was semi-transparent like the matrix, only everything was light blue instead of almost neon green. I also ran into a skeleton warrior then a sheriff, they both reminded who I was. Extremely empowering dream.
In one of my first lucid dreams, I was trying to fly up into a tree. The light around the tree was a warm silvery-white, and the tree was a weeping birch tree with golden leaves. It emanated a feeling of warmth and security. The tree was on a hill with lush green grass surrounding it. Unfortunately, I woke up before I had the chance to fly up into the tree. Nice place though.
I was once in an LD with plain classic spanish-style houses, red sheets on old-style washing-lines and red parasols, the sun high in the sky, with a moderate breeze flowing around me
Can it be any type of dream??
Well, the most beautiful place I ever went to and go to sometimes has to be 5PX. It is just so beautiful, and fun to explore that Cody and I can't stop coming back for more fun times there!(I have been to more beautiful places, but I would rather just leave it at 5PX).
As for LDing, there have been many that I have been in pretty places, mostly in places of Video games, or having to do with my religion.
I was in a place that was so beautiful  :D it made me lucid:Quote:

In waking life I've been to Hawaii and that is beautiful, I think dream was even more spectacular 8)Quote:
I am on a beach in "Bermuda". I fall down after running. An older woman is there, she splashes some water on me and is laughing.
I look around at the beach. The ocean is an amazingly beautiful blue. I look at the sand and it is shimmering. I ask "Why is it so beautiful?". I realize that I'm dreaming[/b]
5PX: You spoke about that in your dream journal... what is it? :)Quote:

Id have to say when i was lucid for the first time way way way before i was a member here i was standing on a floor made of black and white checker pattern made of shinny marble and it went all dirrections as far as the eye could see completley flat and the sky was pink with absoloutley massive clouds churning away and the only thing on this plain was a wendys and i went over to have look since there was nothing else around and i was extremely confused/ facinated so i went over and there was no one at the counter and i was all alone and getting frustrated...
(for all who dont know wendys is a franchise that sell hotdogs and ice cream and frozen soft drinks and stuff like that)
Another was recently when i was at a skate park which went for kilometres (really strange for me to dream about skating) and the sky way purple with a green aurora going crazy in the sky and i taken a picture with my camera phone and i thought it was awesome... til i woke up lol
The most beautiful place ive visited is an island i nicknamed the shores of infinity.. The sand is unnaturally bright golden/yellow, the sky a deep cool blue and the water a very rich shimmering turquoise. The greens of the tree's and bushes seem to have a soft green aura.. All together impossibly vivid colours but thats what makes it amazing.
The most breathtaking dream was standing in a field looking up at a huge armada of spaceships travelling in formation above me... Had that one a few times aswell.
Mine would have to be when i looked up and saw this: (except the sky was a sunset red instead of blue)

its the first time anything in a dream really took my breath away
I agree with everyone who said look at the sky. The best times to look at the sky, IMO, is at night where the light (if there's any) is dim. Then look up... it's beautiful.
Maybe it's just the architect in me, but I'm always mesmerized by cityscapes and vast downtown areas in my dreams. It's amazing how the subconscious can just invent a whole new city with perfect detail.
This was just at dusk and I'd done some flying already. I landed on a beach as it was getting darker out yet there was still plenty of ambient light. The ocean was made of liquid gold. It wasn't opaque, I could see down to the sand in the shallows, as if a fine golden dust was suspended in the water. I tried to walk on the water and got a little ways before I kinda sank and woke up
