Oh dear, I'm afraid to WILD anymore now SP questions also

Hello,

I was stupid enough to go to www.LD4ALL.com (garbage site, doesn't work with FireFox and i think the owner is obsessed with rainbows) and read about the old hag.

Of course, I never was scared of this because i never knew it existed, but now... I probably would experience it and thus I cannot do WILD anymore.. Or so i think. Is it possible to know about the myth and never experience it? Because whenever I try WILD i always get a feeling of parylization before seeing the flashy images.

If you wake up parylized, is there nothing you can do to stop the parylization? Do you die from not being able to eat? THE HORROR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek:

you wont become schizophrenic. the 'hag' exists because of ignorance. people that don't know what sleep paralysis is sometimes describe it as the hag. you know what sleep paralysis is, so you don't have to worry about it.

But everyone always says a dark shadowy figure moves to then during SP.. Pleeeease tell me this is just a dream!!!!!!!

Now that you know that it exists and what it is you've got no reason to be afraid of it.

But I get scared easily! Will it ever appear if I know it exists? So if I'm SP just don't panic and I wont see nothing that would kill me right?

If you truly see "The Hag", know that it is created by your mind and even use it as a dreamsign to trigger lucidity. You can maybe turn it into your dream guide :shock:

Yes, I would like to talk to something out of The Ring 2, and ask it what I should do for the rest of my dream?

I would have a heart attack before then. :D

Hey!

Just so you know that everything that you see here is only a dream! You are fading into the dream, and so really, if you know you are dreaming, you could summon a big bazooka, and shoot the hag if you wished.

And really, the only thing that could happen, but is highly unlikely (only 4 of my friends have done this, and my 2 cousins) is that you could end up in a FA scenerio, and you might decide to go in the other room to read your favorite book you left open on the counter, only to find out that you cannot flip the pages! :P

So really, nothing really serious can happen to you. And I do wish I could see dead people, because that would really make my life so much easier (like my boyfriend).

When people are not trying to induce it and fall into or wake into SP with out knowing why they cant move - they start to become scared. Then when they become scared fearing that they are paralized for life or something they then 'feel' a dark presence moving towards them (like someone watching you) and they feel it getting closer. Most people have never heard of SP and do not know they have it every night. People will become scared about it.
alien abduction claims about aliens coming into their bedroom and they are paralized and cant move is the case of SP- no aliens- just hallucinations. Dreams during conscious.

Really man- you have SP every night. If you what to expect by reading around- then your really fine. Nothing cant physically hurt you. You won't die of starvation =p. It does not last that long at all.

You are closer to death in your stage 3 sleep then you are in SP.

Old Hag and Sleep Paralysis are, for the most part, made out to be far scarier than they actually are. For instance, when I WILD, I get SP so lightly, I barely feel it. Old Hag is pretty rare, the exception rather than the rule, from what I garner.

LOL!!!! Heh. Even if you DO wake up with SP, you're not paralysed for life. LOL! Ten minutes max, maybe, I got no idea how long. LOL!!! Don't worry about it. SP is harmless. It'spart of your body's natural functioning. Your body won't TRY to kill you. LOL.

Just relax, SP is a lot less scary than it's made out to bem and can actually be quite fun. totally harmless, it will NEVER hurt you. Even if you DO happen to get Old Hag, which is VERY unlikely, it's just a very temporary thing, a few minutes max. No worse than a little nightmare, and then you're out again. But yeah... just relax, SP is harmless.

Just when I think it's safe to go on Dream Views before bed... I get all this talk about "old hags".

Serious, I was afraid of some creepy pre-bed-time story! I have a hard enough time convincing myself that I am alone.

Paranoid is an understatement XD For something that is created rarely, by the mind, you're awfully scared of it :P:P

As I said, there really isn't anything to worry about. In fact, it is actually kind of fun, because if you seriously know that it is all a dream during that time, you could blast the hag with something.

I used to have it all the time as a kid, from falling asleep (I have always done WILD since I was 3), and from waking up, and really, it never frightened me more than the furnace did downstairs (I thought it was going to attack me, but in my dreams, I would attack it!).

It cannot hurt you, because if it could, I probably would have died many years ago! The worst it can do to you is frighten you, if you let it. Just think of it as a dream that will be gone the next day.

The reward out-weighs the means, you might say :)

I've had sleep paralysis a couple of times. I've never seen any dark figures, or hags. If you do see her, Yes, you can turn her into a dancing telletubbie, or that hot chick from down the street if you want to.
Turn it into Burns. WOOOO! :)
Anyway, I've never had SP longer than about three minutes. I absolutely hate it, because the thought that you specifically hear voices and see people that aren't there scares the crap out of me, but I am not afraid of a WILD at all. I've been having WILDs for years, and have only had two cases of full SP. Usually, when you feel it coming on, you can pull yourself out of it. All you have to do is move your arm. You may have to try with everything you have, but you can do it.

If it wasn't for sleep paralysis you would walk around all the time at night.
