Absolutely. Dream Incubation is the term for it. It's very possible and comes in one of two ways:
1) By complete accident - You happen to be thinking about a certain person and they automatically pop into your dream.
or 2) You spend time thinking about them with the intention on making them appear in your dreams. This is usually a lot less reliable without practice in things like auto-suggestion and visualization but, just like training your muscles, physically, you can train your mind to produce content for your dreams. One of the things we have on this site is a Lucid Task of the Month where you try to complete a Beginner and/or Advanced task within the month they are posted (Which I just did for the first time this month. Go me. :ninja: )
Of course the subconscious is a tricky thing, though. If you go into a dream expecting it to show you something you aren't already aware of, you have to understand that you Might not get that information, so it's a bit of a gamble, sometimes, but the subconscious also knows more about yourself than your conscious mind can sometimes perceive, so a lot of times it's dead on.

Here's a trick I've used successfully. If you're trying to summon people, try calling them by phone. Phone them and ask to visit your place. It doesn't really matter what number you select, just decide that it's the right number.
So the person will just automatically be on the other phone line then? Will they become lucid themself if u were to "phone" them? What were your results with that exactly?Quote:

no. you will not phone the REAL people, just your image of them. this can be a very central thing to keep in your mind while dreaming!
Wishdreamer, I think you've asked a very complicated question which was: Just for stating a desire for information, can we receive it? I think it depends on the information that you are seeking.
I used to do this just about everytime I went to sleep and usually I would produce a dream about the issue or situation. Some questions aren't going to be answerable in the way that you are seeking. I think one common question I would have was for more insight into a person's character. In other words, would my sleep please send me dreams about what I noticed about a person, but hadn't been aware that I'd noticed? That's a reasonable request. Seeking self-knowledge is a reasonable request also. It's often what dreams are usually about as it is. So, you are going to dream about your fears regardless of whether you request such dreams--like it or not. You could progress from that, however, and ask for knowledge regarding HOW to comfront your fears.
But when you get into the realm of things like true love that seems a little sketchy to me. Some might question whether this romantic notiion is realistic. Or if you ask to dream of the face of your true love and you haven't met such a person, but love playing soccer, for example, you may dream of a soccer ball and wake up saying: WTF? Or your dreams may tell you in some fashion, perhaps by setting you in front of a mirror and forcing you to look at yourself that you need to learn to love yourself first. Or you may only dream of the characteristics you find desirable.
You very well may ask to solve a physics, math, or any artistic or intellectual problem and find a solution--because you are focused on something very concrete and most likely solvable, but I think the idea of seeking to see the face of our true love or something like knowledge of God (or not) is going only to reflect what is already in you (as will almost any dream).
I am very skeptical about this true love thing. I think it makes people kind of desperate. They look for someone outside of themselves to make them suddenly whole. It isn't that I don't believe in a love that can last a lifetime. It's just I think that so few of us are that lucky and I think it is something you can't seek so much. Then again, if you don't believe in it, you never can find it can you?

Dreams are somewhat like Rorschach inkblots, in that they show us what we expect, and wish (or wish not) to see. This way, dreams can tell you much about your personality. It's perfectly possible for your dream to show you your greatest fear, or one of your greatest fears.
Also, in your dreams you will have acces to at least some of your tacid knowledge. That is, knowledge that you possess, but of which you forgot you had it. Because of this, your dreams can give you an insight into the personality of someone you know.
However, the face of your true love is a different story. If you are convinced your dream is showing you this, you will be forming an image based on something you expect/desire to see too. So if you haven't met the person you see as your true love yet, you will not see their actual face.
Whether or not something like this (i.e true love) exists, doesn't matter. Your dreams cannot predict, and show you, the future.
I should add that there are those that believe in precognitive dreaming and/or oneiromancy. This, however, is as (un)likely to be possible as someone being psychic, so maybe you should base what you believe about dreams on that.
I think most of the people here on dreamviews don't believe something like that is possible though.

Actually, I am strong believer in precog dreams, but it's only due to their freaky recurrence in my life. But I think it's not really something you can necessarily seek. I think it finds you.
