I have researched lucid dreaming and have navigated this site extensively in the hopes of having a lucid dream very soon. I want to know what lucid dreams feel like. Is it so real that it seems just like reality? Do you feel like you're in your physical body?

It feels EXACTLY like real life. Some say even more real. Because, in real life, you are limited by the quality of your sensual organs (ears, eyes, skin etc.). In a dream, it's all in your head so you can read a small sign a hundred metres away (i think). You can also taste and feel emotion. Even pain! So be careful. Oh, and LDing is so real, don't get into a big fight. You'll do absolute shit and get owned and feel a lot of pain and wake up. Train first. Fight defensive robots. Practice techniques in the air. If you plan on fighting lots in LD's (it's fun)... I'll give you some things you HAVE to do.
Learn good hand-to-hand skills by practising in-dream
Same with swords.
Learn some magic.
Become proficient with a projectile weapon.
Time warping. E.g. Pausing, slowing and speeding time.
Then, you stand a chance. Heh. It's soooo worth it though.
OR! You could spawn a "Pill of super ultra fighting goodness" but that would take the fun out of things.

For me it doesn't feel much like reality at all. The only part that feels totally real and awake is my mind and my ability to think. The least real part is probably my observation of my physical surroundings in the dream. Even though I'm totally aware of where I am and what I'm doing, I still always have the same difficulty to open my eyes and look around. Maybe that's partly because my mind just isn't capable of constructing a complex surrounding out of nowhere.
For me, it feels even more real than reality. Everything looks like real life, but some things seem to shine reality. Dunno, some things seem super-real. But obviously, it's a reality you control making it 100,000,000 times better. Also, some dreams look better than others. For me atleast, it depends on your lucidity. The more in control and lucid you are, the more real it looks.

It can feel like reality, or it can be your own fantasy. It really is your decision. I can choose to be playing a video game, or running away from cops. And yes, you can feel your body when you are about to end the dream, usually. I usually feel it upon commanding myself to awaken!

I haven't LDed much, but to me it felt slightly detached from reality (though I often feel that way in real life too, sort of like dizziness, but different), except not in a bad sense, but in a "I have no physical restrictions sence". It feels like I am a disembodied spirit, just in a body. I haven't had any vivid LD's though, mine were pretty vague. It's hard to explain what I am trying to explain, so lets just call it freedom.
LOL! Don't panic. 1. If you have a strong will, you can turn the pain into tickleness and the blood into flowers! 2. If you have a medium will, you stop the pain a few seconds later. 3. If you have a weak will, just try to avoid getting stabbed, shot,punched or pushed off a building. ;)Quote:

I always feel drunk in lucids, I stagger around and often find that my neck muscels don't work after a WILD.
I usually feel weak too, I tried the lucid task of tearing down a building. IRL if I punch the right wall in my house, the house shakes, in the dream, it didn't even make a sound. I couldn't even punch through my window.
Along with feeling weak, I usually feel weightless, in that dream (Above) I just opened the window and kind of drifted out.
My LDs seem clearer than normal dreams. And I always have an enlightened feeling when I'm lucid, like I know things the other characters in my dreams don't. It's a very free feeling.
In my experience LDs are as varied as any other sort of dream . Sometimes mine are hypereal ,ultra-detailed with bright clear lighting like a stage set or cgi ,sometimes hallucinogenic like an acid trip , sometimes I just find myslef in a dark room . Since I started using 'spinning' to prolong lucidity I find 'spinning' dreams much more abstract , brightly coloured and cartoon like , quite distinct from 'normal' dream experiences i.e. with lots of kaleidascope type patterns , caused by the spinning?
