Do you take drugs in your dreams?

Hopefully this hasn't been done before. OK suppose you use drugs or alcohol, do you like to take your drugs or drink or just smoke a cig in your dreams? What kind of effects does it have on you? Are you able to use them to your heart's delight and not get those nasty side-effects?

I have done this several times. I have had many times that it really works. I have had X, Cannabis, Alchohol, and Ciggerates in my dreams. Here is my theory, im no scientist. When you have a nightmare your body releases adrenaline. When you take X or something of the sort in your dream isnt it possible that your body would release seritonin? Your body would truley believe it had taken or done the action just like it belives you are about to die.

maybe...but what if you took a drug in a dream that you didn't know what the side effects were? Would your body substitute that lack of knowledge of what would happen with that drug with the knowledge of a different drug, and you have that one's reaction?

Yes it would replace the feeling for an unknown substance with that of a known one. Can you experience something in a dream that you have not in reality? Lucid dream challenge right there!

Quite easily, actually. However, as dreams are entirely subjective constructs of your mind, the effects are typically more what you'd expect them to be than how'd you actually experience them in the real world.

I've done it many times. Even before I'd ever experimented with drugs. It's incredible in the dream aswell, though dififerent.

After I'd taken drugs for the first time, the experiences with drugs in dreams became even more incredible.

I've never smoked weed or done anything like that in a dream (I think it's stupid to call it Cannabis if every body knows what it is, this doesn't mean I'm condoning it) however, because of the rituals I've been through while on mushrooms or LSD, I can some times have dreams of a more native-like ritual happening.

Rather than the knowledge that I am on a drug that usually persists in "real-life" rituals, these are as if being in a divine state without them, with no knowledge that I had eaten anything ethneogenic.

      The dreams are intense.

One time in a non-lucid dream I was eating a bag of sour patch kids, and then I ate all the white powder left at the bottom of the bag after I was done..... but it turned out to not be sugar at all haha, it was LSD! By far the trippiest dream I ever had, lol. I've never taken acid, but my mind just kind of simulated what it thought it would be like. It was like a mix of shrooms, weed and hallucinations.

i have smoked pot in real life and, occasionally, in dreams. some times in dreams, i did not get stoned, no matter how much i smoked. other times, i got completely ripped. in fact, once or twice, i've gotten stoned in a dream, and when i woke up, i still felt kinda stoned.

I used to smoke cigarettes occasionally in dreams. I still like to, but sometimes I feel like having a smoke after I wake up, and I've never actually had one.

this is interesting...i think its possible for the right receptors to be activated w/o any substance actually being produced...but im going to do some research on this

ive never done a mind altering drug in a dream excpet once i smoked some weed. usually i will just find a field of shrooms or something and have no idea what to do with myself

I once smoked weed with a few freinds of mine (in the real world ), and for about a week after that, in almost every dream I could recall I did massive amounts of drugs. Unfortunately, none of the dreams were lucid. But it was certainly an interesting experience. In one dream, I dont remember acctually consuming any thing, but I was walking about my house more stoned then i have ever experienced in my life. It was completely outrageous, I felt as if I had ate 10 bags of weed. But there was no negative side-effects, it was all just plain fun. And when I looked up towards the night sky, there was about 8 moons. I ran inside, and grabbed my brother, who was also stoned (he is only a young fellow, he wouldn't even know what weed is ) and forced him to count the moons for clarification.

Anyway, I would like to add to the comment ZNOFZ made. I was thinking about what you said, and I thought of ecstasy, I have not used it myself, and do not intend to, but a freind of mine does it on regular occasions. He tells me that sometimes he gets "flash backs" when he feels the effect of the drug again, even though he hasn't consumed any. For instance, when dance music he was dancing to at his last rave starts playing, or when someone starts talking about ecstasy, the effects sometime reappear, and, as he told me, on one occasion he swore he felt the full effect of the drug after listening to some music in his mates car, and they all started excitedly reminising about the last rave they went to. ANYWAY! The point im trying to make, is that the brain can recreate these effects. My freind suggests that once your brain releases that much serotonin, it kinda knows how to do it again. So when you start thinking back to your drug consuming experiences in such depth, your brain can return to that state. SO, if your in a dream and you consumed ecstasy, your brain would believe you have done so and start releasing serotonin. Which I suppose would mean, you could wake up completely high as a kite. Or course, for this to work, you would have had to of previously taken ecstasy, and for many, thats out of the question. This of course means, if you go to a rave, you could have a quick nap before you go, have a lucid dream, take some dream ecstasy, wake yourself up, then your set to go... ...which would save a good amount of money, prevent you from taking some terrible poison that some madman made in his tool shed, and would mean you can't in trouble with the law.
Now, I have very little knowledge on how the drug works, so everything I wrote here could be complete bulls**t. And I realise my little conclusion at the end is highly outrageous. But it is certainly interesting and something worth thinking/researching/joking/bulls***ing about.
