I think this was some kind of SP...
I was trying to sleep (obviously) and then suddently my body twitched and jumped. I opened my eyes and saw a dark figure standing beside me. I got really scared and moved. The figure just vanished... I believe this was SP? I 'm not sure, but this really scared the crap out of me and it's now 1:25 and I find myself unable to sleep because of that issue :(
dont think it was SP because you did move and open your eyes. theres this thing called the old hag, im not sure if it has to do with SP but it sounds something like that. or it was just your mind playing with you. .........or, it couldve been something else, dun dun dunnnnnn! :peek:
It probably was my mind playing with me but damn it scared me! Music is helping me relax now... I hope I can sleep

No really... you were experienceing either a hypnogogic image, false awakening, sleep paralysis or a mix of the three.
The Old Hag is related to sleep paralasys. Usually when we are at the point of SP, we are also at a stage of sleep where we experience hypnogogia (hallucinations, random imagery) which sometimes can include sounds as well (hypnopompia). These images and/or sounds can be so real that you are convinced you are experiencing them. When this happens, you can easily be scared into aking yourself up -- HOWEVER, if you can control it and accept that it's not real, you can slip right into a WILD! I figured out that it was in my head because it vanished as it drew my attention... but by the time... hell it was scary
