Relaxation Before Sleep

So, for the past couple of days I've been listening to the last track of the CD that came with Stephen Laberge's book Lucid Dreaming before I go to sleep for the past couple of days, and it's a relaxation thing. I live with my grandma and 5 cousins, all of whom just happen to be loud and annoying when I'm going to bed :mad: (my cousins, not my grandma). Anyways when I listen to the track, I have to turn the volume up a ways so I don't hear the majority of what the kids are doing. But as I listen to the track, it always seems that they get louder and it gets softer. Not by much, but enough to get my attention and sort of distract my mind. Is that normal? It get's you ready for becoming lucid and is constantly trying to get you to be aware of everything and of your own awareness, but as I seem to be getting more aware of the annoying yells and screams of the kids. Any suggestions for me?

eeeek..that sucks! Im ALWAYS the last one in bed so I've never had to worry about that. have you tried yelling at them? :banana:

can't you go to bed after them? Or is that not possible?
You could skip the CD, and then get some earplugs, although that's a bit drastic.

have you tried explaining to them. They might understand; even if they don't they might at least work with you a little bit.
how old are your cousins? If they are young, your gandma could quiet them down.

Well, school's out and the get to stay up late. I'm going to bed around 2am, and they're going crazy.

They are 10, 11, and 12. Young enough to control, but old enough to be scared of.

10, 11 and 12 years old?
Box them up and stick them in a closet...

10, 11, and 12? oh man..when I was that age I was going to sleep when the sun came up :D but I lived in a small apartment, so I couldnt afford to be loud......

do you live in a big house? its hard to keep people quiet when they live a big house..they tend to think noises dont carry....

lol haha i suggest a white noise machine and a paintball gun...
