Dead End Dreams, Anyone Else Have?

I woke up at 7:00AM today, went back to sleep at around 8:00AM, and I had a very, very long dream (I didn't wake up until 10:03AM). But at the end of the dream, I ended up in some area with a friend, and then all activity other than me and friend being there ceased to exist, like everything just went dead. I realized it was a dream because I though "I hate when my dreams do this... that's it! A dreamsign, I am dreaming!", except even when I lucid, I couldn't do anything. I right away told my friend that we were dreaming, and he a shocked excited look on my face, and I said, "let's go to the stars or something" and as I waited, it was like my dream was trying to change scene, but nothing was happening, it just remained dead. I seem to get these a lot after very long dreams. So, disappointed, as my dream began to fade away, I had a false awakening (clock said 8:13AM) but I didn't realize it, then I had another false awakening in which I went OoB, and I tried to grab my body and get back in but I pulled it onto the floor and thoughts "woops," in which it turned into a jacket, and then I put it on saying I was back in body and I finally woke up for real. (I thought I was having an obe - it was a dream, but I told myself I would try not to have these and cocentrate on lucid dreaming).

But does anyone else get these dead-end dreams that I seem to get once in a while. They are a great dream-sign for me because I always realize it's a dream when that happens, but when going lucid I can't do anything It was like nothing more was to be done in the dream, and the brain was lagging in terms or ending it or something.

      Hey Blade,

I wouldn't call that a dead-end dream - you had quite a variety of experiences. Just because you didn't accomplish something you may have previously planned or wanted to do in the dream doesn't mean that the experience itself was a failure.

Now you're able to look back on that dream and maybe figure out why it didn't go the way you wanted. Or maybe something with meaning DID happen in it, you just didn't see it because you were busy trying to do something else. Who knows. Maybe you could look at it as a training session. Something that you might learn from and improve upon in another dream.

No dream is dead-end. Dreams are more like an open road in uncharted territory.

7:00AM-10:03AM= A completion in all your parts (Spirit, Soul, Body) =303, so stop fighting it! ‘Let them the dreams come freely’ your trying to hold on to the concept of time in your dreams (very, very long).

And then all activity other than my friend and me being there ceased to exist, like everything just went dead. (Calming down) your inner man is calming down it’s maturing. I right away told my friend that we were dreaming, and he a shocked excited look on my face, (Friend shocked) because you said, we’re dreaming and "let's go to the stars or something"(you are changing and going where he can’t (to the stars), your changing into a higher state inside, and he see it, and he knows he can’t come.

And as I waited, it was like my dream was trying to change scene, but nothing was happening, it just remained dead. (An unseen change) change is happening in you, but to you it’s only a false awakening it (Seems dead) because you know life in this body is only a jacket you wear, something you put on as a garment

Hey, I've got a bit of advice for you. This is something I started doing a while ago to maintain control over my dreams once I realized I was lucid.

Establish a power sign in the waking life. Right now, say it's your hand. When you look at your hand, you're turning on your lucid engine so to speak. In a dream, when that happens, when you look at it, and take it in, calm yourself down, let down your hand, look up, and decide what you want to change (or where you want to go, or what you want to do, etc.).

I find that using the hand afterwards works very well, and for me personally, saying what I want to do along with pointing and imagining.

      ugh, sorry, for example:

After you look at your hand, say a ninja is charging at you (my dreams often involve melodramatic struggles, you'll have to bear with me, ha) raise your hand, as calm as can be, and say something along the lines of, "stone." Imagine the ninja as hard as rock, and, if you're in the correct mental state, the ninja will turn to stone.

That example actually happened by the way. It was one in a series of eye opening experiences from a couple of years ago...

EDIT: And Awaken, though I agree with a lot of what you've said, I think you're reading may be a bit too concrete. I've found that in most of my dreams, the typical, obvious readings don't mean a thing to me, because my dreams are very personal. Everything centers around context, and a perspective that any outsider couldn't possibly have.

No you guys are missing my point alittle, my main question is, is it possible for the brain to burn-out after dreaming for a very long time hence everything going calm and quiet. When I was in that place with my friend, it felt I shouldn't have been dreaming anymore, like my subconcious finished, like the dream was over, and I was supposed to wake up, but for some reason I just stayed in that location, and since changing the scene didn't work, I guess I was expecting to wake up (I guess that led to the FA because I expected to wake up soon).

Like this dream was really, really long. I've had this happen to me in the past, where after a very long dream, it's like the dream was supposed to end, but it didn't, hence me just sitting there with nothing going on (kind of like a delayed wake-up, like as if my brain forgot I was dreaming for a while, and then "oops I forgot to end it! Sorry about the delay, here you go!").

And I don't believe my friend was really there, it was all just a part of me getting excited when I realised I was dreaming.

For some reason this happens to me when the dream is almost like a very long quest, and a barrier just get's in the way and I can't go any further (everything going dead), probably has some kind of real-life connection, but I don't get these often.
