      First false awakening

Last night i had my first false awakening. I woke up and rolled out of my bed and was kind of sitting on the floor, and i looked around cuz i wondered why it didnt hurt, then i actually woke up, laying in my bed. It was the craziest thing ever bc it was so real and vivid, it didnt even look like i was dreaming.
      Jesus is THE way

      There!

Your Higher Mind is trying to capture back Dreaming from your Lucid Abuses.

But how much would anybody wish to wager that you will not take this polite hint from your Higher Mind and back off from attempting to assert your usurping Lucid Control, but that you will redouble your efforts to attack your Ordinary Dreaming... ask for techniques to defeat False Awakenings... you all do. yes, you will declare War on your Higher Self and will not rest until you have stamped out every moral and spiritual impulse that tries to influence your Dreams for your own good. Every night of ordinary dreaming you will count as some personal failure. Everything that your dreams are trying to tell you, and all the lessons you should be learning... well, you will toss them all away .... because they are not Lucid. The only think you want from your Dreams is Content that you wish to provide yourself. You pretend you need no external sourse for Wisdom or Knowledge, but can provide everything you desire for yourself with your very own Control. You want FUN.

Well, you might as well give up. There is no technique for overthrowing the Higher Dream Mind. The False Awakening is only the first shot in the battle. If you continue to attack the Higher Dream Mind with Lucid Attacks against Ordinary Dream Content, then the Higher Dream Mind can win its absolute victory simply by cutting off your Dream Recall. You know, its happened before. The Best Lucid Dreamers crawling back to the Page to confess that its been YEARS since they have even been able to remember a dream.

So take the Warning of a False Awakening very seriously.

Now there is nothing wrong with being Lucid. Lucidity is a State of Consciousness. The Problems and Conflicts arise with the assertion of Dream Control. Now, even i am not entirely certain of where to draw the lines here. What I feel is within bounds is that while in a Lucid Dream, I can make choices and can move freely. I have even chosen to leave some dream scenes and have moved onto other Dream Scenes. And I have not been warned off with False Awakenings. But what I have not been doing, which everyone else supposes they have a right to, is to attack and destroy Dream Scene Content and then to replace it with self-generated imaginary content.

Dreams are a Creative Endeavor. The Dream Mind spends weeks in advance designing Dreams and laying out the possible scenarios (you cannot just have one ending to a dream, but must allow for the choices the Dreamer might make). Now, just suppose how the Creative Process must FEEL when some young Dreamer pulls a lightening bolt out of his ass and destroys a week's worth of Dream Stage Production? And for what. The Higher Dream Mind is attempting to move our Spirits toward Wisdom and Enlightenment. But the typical Lucid Dreamer only wants to turn dreaming into a Virtually Realistic Pornographic Video Game.

That's how false awakenings generally are. I haven't had that many, but in all of them, everything seems perfectly real, except if you remember to RC and grab your nose, you can still breathe. One time I FAed that I wrote all my dreams in my dream journal (my actual dreams from that night), but then i woke up and realized I didn't actually remember those dreams. Damn. I actually remembered most throughout the day and ended up having 4 entries in my journal that day. If you start having them a lot, then do a reality check every time you wake up, so you know when you're dreaming and when you're not, as if you do realize you're dreaming, you can try dream control and have some fun.
