Dream Journals' What's the Point?

What exactly is the point to having a DJ? I mean when I read the journal like a month from now, will it benefit me in any way, or is it just used to temporarily reflect on dreams, which somehow will help recall?

I find it helps recall if I'm writing my dreams down. Also, it can help you find dream signs. I've noticed two recurring elements in my dreams- video games, or other forms of media, and a specific person. Because of my DJ, I'm reminded to do a reality check when I see either of these.

the very act of writing down your dreams will help you recall your dreams after waking up. the longer you keep a dream a journal, the better your recall is in the long run so good journal keeping can help you remember a dream every night. and after a while, you can remember those dreams vividly..and then after a little while, you can remember more than one dream a night and vividly - well you get the idea you dont have to reflect your entries after writing. though some people like to. reflecting your dream entries can help you find a dream theme. and after you have found a dream theme you can identify a dream sign easier
