Hey there; yes, a lot of people seem to have that problem! But how long have you been practicing lucid dreaming? It can take a pretty long time. I didn't have my first LD for months after I started trying. Just keep at it- it will happen eventually.
Even if your recall is good, I recommend keeping a dream journal if you don't already. It's not only for recall- it helps you to recognize your personal dream signs so you know when you're dreaming, and helps recognize patterns or common occurances you may have in your dreams. You should train yourself to do reality checks throughout the day in waking life.
Also, have you tried any of the induction methods? Check out the tutorial section and see if any of those sound like they might work for you.
Just keep trying. I know it's frustrating, but it's so worth the effort in the end.

clocks
I had my first lucid dream after seeing a movie called "waking life," and absorbing what it had to say about reality checking.
I've become lucid noticing many small dicrepancies around me, but the two most common triggers for me are light switches and clocks.
1) switch a light switch and it doesn't go on....your probably dreaming
2) THE MOST COMMON: When I can't read the time from a clock....it is always blurry.
Also read about MILD and try the method when napping in the afternoon (especially if you'd been drinking the night before).
