Keep trying, don't give up on it. That's pretty much the best tip :)
Use a dream journal and try some B6, It usually comes in a daily supplement.

Vitamins have a pronounced effect on dreaming. If your diet is lacking, you wont see many dreams and will rarely remember them. Try multivitamins or B6 supplements for a week or so and you will notice a difference.
Try to wake up after about 5 hours of sleep, then go back to sleep. I always get vivid dreams like that.. I did this tonight and I had a little control!
