I had my first lucid dream today! I am so excited about it... at the same time, I really don't want to be having them every night. So my question is this... if I dont use a method to induce a LD, will I be gauranteed (or almost gauranteed) not to have one or is it like once you have a LD you can not stop yourself from having another one?

Uh, I have yet to experience a LD, but I think it really depends on you wanting to have them. So just sleep, not even thinking about LDs. That's all I say.

But the chance that you get that good, that you have a lucid every night is small. If you do though, I remember somebody saying that if you go with the flow and let your mind wander, you will eventually be in a normal dream, unaware of it :)
I dunno, I would say having full-on lucids every night would be almost torture for me, since I always wake up somewhat tired, even though i'm on a high. Somewhat like someone who's not slept well for a while, and had a good night sleep. In answer to the question, the chances of you having them all the time is about as probable as winning the lottery! From what I've read, the only people who have lucid dreams without trying, every night, are the people who could do it from childhood, naturally, so you dont have much to worry about!
Indeed, many Lucid Dream come spontaneously. You may simply find yourself having Lucid Dreams. But without implementing a Lucid Dream Checklist, or doing anything to focus or intensify the Lucidity, soon enough the Lucid Dream will normalize. However, in most cases the Normalized Lucid Dream will still carry with it an extra intensity, richer meaning, and be easier to remember. You should not mind this.Quote:

but it has been remarked that some very vivid dreams tend to leave sleepers feeling drained and exhausted the next day. I've never noticed this, and quite to contrary would say that I have felt upbeat and full of afterglow after my Lucid or Vivid Dreams. But I always try to keep to a careful sleep schedule, trying to average about 8 hours of sleep per night. It may happen that some Dreamers will tend to go Lucid after several days and nights of insufficient or interrupted sleep... that being tired and fatiqued more than normally is exactly what precipitates their Lucid Dreams. If this is the case, then Lucid Dreaming is not a cause of the rundown feeling but one of the results of chronic fatique.
