1. Can you feel pain in an LD? I know I feel things like touching stuff, the feelings of being high up in the air.

2. Is there something you should never do in an LD?
Say... killing someone or committing suicide?

3. What's the best method to go somewhere else? Say you want a big monster to appear, do you just imagine it or do you spin around?(what I do)

4. How do you fly really quickly? I've only managed to float up slowly, and I was a little scared since it seemed way too real.

5. How do you shoot beams out of your hands, or anything really? I tried but I couldnt

1:Yes you can feel pain in a dream. You can feel anything in a dream. I found that out my first long LD...I was surprised at the time but really it makes sense.

2:The short answer for question 2 is no. Nothing you shouldnt do. Do whatever feels right to you. Just don't do something that feels wrong to you, but one of the great parts of dreaming is that the restrictions of waking life are gone.

3: Spinning works well for me. Opening doors is also usefull. Just know what's going to be on the other side and open it.

4: Flying can be scary. I know I can get that feeling in my stomach and quickly grab on to something. Theres a few methods to overcome this ungrounded feeling. You can focus on a point you're going toward and sort of "magnetize" yourself towards it. You can use a device such as a car or a bike and fly it around. Spiderman swing...while not actually flying....works very well for me. I can soar while feeling grounded in the swing. Try different things. Eventually nothing is needed and rocketing into space can be easily done.

5: never tried it. But I guess the simple anwer is to just visualize how you want it to happen and make it happen. Many good lessons on dream control are in the first matrix. One you fully realize your reality nothing is an obstacle.

Gameover gave great answers for the first four, so I won't need to touch on those.

As far as projectiles and stuff (which I'm pretty seasoned in ) it's good to get a feel of what it may feel like, while you're awake. Don't take too much time going "Uhhh...maybe...uhm...like this? Nah...more like..uhm..this?" Just throw your hand out in front of you and imagine what you'd most likely feel as whatever energy you're using jumps out of your hand.
The point is to familiarize yourself with the sensation of just being able to do it. That way, when you try to do something like throw a fireball or shoot ice or electricity out of your hand, in your dream, you're not bogged down with doubt or unfamiliarity. You just throw your hand out and know exactly what you expect to happen. 9 times out of 10, it will.

Are you serious? I almost died this morning then! Well... How painful can you experience it? Say you threw yourself in front of an oncoming car. What would the pain be on a scale of 1 to 10?

Is there something you should never do in an LD?

First you need to consider that during Lucid Dreams you are energizing and strengthening that particular Persona. Think in terms of Multiple Personality. in a Lucid Dream you are occupying one of these Personalities... whether it is your Primary Personality, or some alternate Personality (check by looking into a Dream Mirror... an alternate Personality will have a different body then you are used to. Most of the time you don't notice... even the difference between male and female is often lost on the Dreamer who doesn't happen to walk past a mirrorr to see one's self). Anyway, you don't want to do anything in a Lucid Dream that you wouldn't want to do in Waking Life. Why? Well, because you are strengthening the habits and inclinations of your Dream Persona, in a very powerful way. Lucid Dreams ARE typically more intense and vivid. Behaviors indulged in could become primary urges just under the surface of the Waking Personality Complex. There is also the possibility that with prolonged practicing of Lucid Dreaming, a Dream Persona may become strong enough to directly influence Waking Behavior, or even take over as a new Ruling Persona.

So you would not want to create a Monster that would take over and ruin your life and the lives of those who are dear to you. So concentrate on being Noble and Heroic, Upright and Honest. it is sort of like "You get what you wish for", but in the case of Dreams, "you get what you indulge in". So don't be a barbarian or be a pig, unless that is what you really want for yourself, even while awake.

How do you fly really quickly?

To go vertically very very quickly, lay back horizontally the same as if you are assuming the position of your sleeping body. This will enable you to fly upward so quickly that you will break out of the Earth's atmosphere and into Outer Space in only a few seconds. But if you want to fly from one place to another, the best position is the Flying Carpet Position -- the lotus position or cross-legged meditation position. Many people use the Superman Position, and I also used that position in my early days. But then, in a dream, a squadron of Sufi Dervishes caught up with me, all crosslegged on their carpets, and they were able to fly rings and circles around me. It taught me a lesson. The next time I tried flying a dream I did so from the crosslegged position and was amazed at the qualitative difference. Oh, you don't have to sit on the ground first... you can just pick your legs up and fold them and you will be hovering in the air to start off.

How do you shoot beams out of your hands?

It isn't a Movie. You don't have to see beams shooting out. For instance, in my Dream in which I found that my Hands had the power to Transform the White Giants.... I simply held my hand out -- palm outward, fingers up as though I was signalling someone to 'stop' .... and just that gesture set the White Giants to a substantial shaking and vibrating as though their very Beings had become molecularly unstable. Finally, reaching out and just touching them was able to complete their Tranformation into Normal Men.

So, the lesson here is to not impose conditions on the Powers you Receive during Lucid Dreaming. Consider it this way, if the Power comes to you in a way you do not expect, then it is real. But if a Power comes to you exactly as you imagine, then it is probably only Imaginary. So what would you prefer? The Real that comes to you as it will? Or just phoney Lights and Shadows that can do nothing and are good for nothing?

It can be as painful as you think it will be. Dream sensations can be less or greater than in real life. There is no limit. But I don't think Ive ever felt any insane amount of pain in dreams. But I cant answer you as far as .if you threw yourself in front of a car, how much would it hurt. Theres no laws of physics governing it so if you want, throwing yourself in fron of a car can feel good. Or bad. Though the natural reaction would probably be pain. Just like in real life how a lot of pain is created by your mind before it actually happens. Pre-emptive pain. Kinda how your dreams work. Anyways, the short answer is I don't know. But I wouldn't be scared of dream pain. In my experience the pain is rare and usually makes the dream better. Pain in small amounts can really make you feel alive.

I'd like to add some things:

1) Pain can be felt, although rarely and not very acutely.

2) I cant think of anything that would really mess you up. Yeah, being noble and heroic like neo says is ok, but I dont see anything wrong with occasionally doing something you wouldnt do in real life... As long as you dont make a habit of it.

3) Spinning doesnt work for a lot of people. Try teleportation - when you imagine the new surroundings around you and shift your attention to that image. Or sculpt the dream around you to look as you wish - just spread your arms before you and as you move them to your sides wish for the landscape behind your arms to change.

4) I find 2 ways to fly fast to be the most effective - attraction and propulsion. When using propulsion you concentrate an enormous amount of energy under your feet and accelerate in the direction you desire, it takes a few seconds to properly "charge up".

Attraction is easier - all you have to do is slowly levitate off the ground then focus on the object you want, feel as it attracts you or as you fall towards it. What you do next is shift your attention to different objects and fly towards them. Kinda like spiderman moving from one building to another except without webs and on a much larger scale.

5) I've tried shooting beams a few times but I couldnt do that. What I could do was concentrate my willpower on one object ( a gas tank) and make is superhot - first there was smoke, then the whole thing exploded.. Kinda cool, but there was no special effects...

Leo. He didn't ask how to transform Giants, or anything else that would, obviously, require less of a light show. He asked how to shoot beams out of his hand.

And I replied on how one can shoot POWER out of the hands.

Hopefully he has more comprehension and awareness for the IMPORTANT things then you do.

Meanwhile you should examine if there is anything in a Lucid Dream you can do to help with being mentally challenged.

IMO that's the worst part of lucid dreaming, the fact that "normal" restrictions are gone. Leaves those with a propensity for such to indulge in their own sickness.

I'd say there are heaps of things, if it's immoral and just really wrong, you shouldn't.

3. What's the best method to go somewhere else? Spinning worked for me once.

4. How do you fly really quickly? I just decide to fly, jump off the ground and away I go!

5. How do you shoot beams out of your hands, or anything really? I'm not sure, i plan to do like Dragonball Z energy balls next lucid dream.

I don't really care to take the time in answering all of your questions. I just had an experience with pain the other night I thought was interesting. I dreamt I got shot in the stomach and it left a huge bloody hole. I never became lucid but I remember asking myself why it didn't hurt much more than it did. HOWEVER, I never got over the fact that I had actually been shot in the stomach. It was like an extreme emotional pain I guess you could say. Just thinking about how much it sucked and how much it SHOULD hurt was where the pain came from. I woke up feeling very shitty.
