Has anyone read Lucid Dreaming: The Concise Guide to Awakening in Your Dreams and in Your Life? I read Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming already, and was wondering what his newer book has to offer in terms of content.

I recommend "lucid dreaming" more than ETWOLD
"lucid dreaming: the concise guide to awakening in your dreams" tells you alot about the history of lucid dreaming, need to know stuff for any lucid dreamer (its alot more interesting than ETWOLD as well)
In my humble opinion, I like EWLD (ETWOLD ;)) way better than "Lucid Dreaming".
EWLD contains the techniques etc better, and has a LOT more information. I thought Lucid Dreaming didn't teach me anything new I hadn't read on sites and EWLD did. EWLD also contains a lot of experiences and stories about LDing, and "Lucid Dreaming" doesn't.
I've read both, and EtWoLD is most definitely the better. I don't think Lucid Dreaming covers anything over EtWoLD. It does come with a good CD though, which includes the Trance Induction tracks, which I do recommend trying. You won't get a whole lot out of the actual book if you've read EtWoLD, though.
Laberge has 3 books he authored on Lucid Dreaming (he also was involved in editing some other books).
Lucid Dreaming: The Power of Being Awake & Aware in Your Dreams published in 1985 is a great resource on history and science of lucid dreams. It does set out techniques.
Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming published in 1990 is much more of a step by step guide.
Lucid Dreaming: A Concise Guide... published in 2004, is as it says, a concise guide. It also has a CD with some inductions to listen to.
If you just want to learn to LD get ETWOLD.
If you want to learn more about history of LDing and various explorers read the 1985 book. :)
The first two books are very available from used book stores and many libraries.
I have read a book called Conscious Dreaming : A spiritual Path for everyday life, by Robert Moss.

I still feel IMO that ETWOLD is the best one out there.
Each person may get ONE thing and extract it from a book and it would make it all worth it. If it makes you understand, then your in the game. 8)
Hey guys, I don't own any books on lucid dreaming, I learnt everything from internet sites. Do you think it is worth buying a book on lucid dreaming for reference? I already lucid dream with low lucidity. Also, I lve in South Africa (Double points for anyone who knows where that is!), and the cost of a book is doubled by the cost of the shipping! So is it still a good idea?
Yes! Internet is great resource, but a good book gives much more in depth info, plus its easy to read in bed before falling asleep, or when doing WBTB. Check out ADDALL.com for used books. May even be seller in South Africa.Quote:
