Yesterday I put my LD series audio tapes on for WILDing. I went through all of tape 1 - which is 90 minutes of playtime, through which you are completely relaxed and waiting for ur brain to send u signals.
At the beginning my breathing was a little fast because I never had a WILD, but then it slowed down and I got really really relaxed, up to the point where I couldn't feel my body.
So I'm laying there and the tape finishes! I've been waiting the whole time and the guy on the tape goes like "Remember your experiences as I wake you." I'm like NOOO I didn't have anything happen! Well, Other than being completely relaxed.
So I'm confused... Why didn't I have one? I don't even remember seeing hypnotic imagery. I'm still unsure about a lot of WILD things, so I have some questions.
1. How fast can you go into a WILD?... From the time you lay down and relax. 30 minutes? 90 minutes? Is there a time?
2. What exactly do you see before you WILD, and how does it all visually happen?
3. What are you supposed to do if you see hypnotic imagery?
4. What are you supposed to think about when you're laying there waiting for it to happen? Can you think anything while you wait or are you supposed to be focused?
5. If you have an itch, can you scratch it or are you supposed to be still?

Well, the first thing I'd suggest, is stop using the tapes...
The second thing I'll say, is that don't get frustrated because you didn't successfully have a WILD the first time. It took me about a month of attemots to make a WILD come out. WILD is a long process of trial and error, and you'll have to put a lot of effort in. It's worth it, though.

Well, for me, it takes a good 20 minutes to relax fully. After that, the time can really vary based on a number of factors. I'd say, however, that if after 90 minutes you still haven't succeeded, go to sleep and try again the next day.
2. What exactly do you see before you WILD, and how does it all visually happen?
Ummm... it varies. GREATLY. Some people see nothing, others see heaps of stuff. What's more important than what you see, is how you feel. For me, the most important thing indicating transition in a WILD is the feeling of my dream body rising up from the bed.
3. What are you supposed to do if you see hypnotic imagery?
Watch it, but don't focus or concentrate on it too much. Wait until a dream-scene forms. Don't try to pull yourself into the HI too early.
4. What are you supposed to think about when you're laying there waiting for it to happen? Can you think anything while you wait or are you supposed to be focused?
I'd try the ol' counting technique. Breathe in, "One", Breathe out, "I'm Dreaming". think those things instead of saying aloud, of course. and on each out breath, imagine yourself sinking down into the bed.
5. If you have an itch, can you scratch it or are you supposed to be still?
Scratch the damn thing, otherwise it'll just end up annoying you WAY to much. But don't consciously scratch it. Try to do it automatically without thinking, that way you won't "go out" of the relaxation phase too much.
