As I was reading a Topic about WILD where someone mentioned he started counting from1 to 100, something I've attempted myself before, I suddenly had an Idea for a New Lucid Dream Induction Method.
I noticed myself how, as I fall asleep, My Conciousness obviously becomes clouded since I loose track of counting and find it difficult to count smoothly and effortless: My Rational part of Mind was slowly fading under the Hypnotic Sleep Sensation: more and more and faster and faster.
Usually I give up deliberately because it's keeping me from sleep or I continue counting in my Head: Either way I find that I become less and less sharp, more and more hazy-dreamy and non rational: That's the TYPICAL Dreaming Mood. However NOT the Right mood for a Lucid Dream.
The PROBLEM is that I loose my Rational thinking, Alertness and Sharpness.
Perhaps making it a Habbit of, while falling asleep and becomming drowsy and ''woozy'', to try and suddenly snap out of that and become Alert, Sharp and fully Concious again. Then Perhaps Allow your Mind to wander on thoughts again for about 15 minutes, then SHARPEN attention and Conciousness again. A good way of doing this is to Question your Ability to Reason: It is often Impaired or completely absent in Trance like States, as also experienced in Dreams. DO this for instance while Feeling entranced and Dreamy during the day or While attempting WILD:
''WHO AM I?'' Answer the Question
''WHERE AM I?'' Answer the Question
"WHAT AM I DOING HERE?'' Answer the Question
"HOW DID I GET HERE?" Answer the Question
When near-sleep and attempting WILD, I suppose you don't do this verbally but ask yourself these Questions in your head in thoughts.
You will Often find that, when in Trance State, you have a hard time giving a Reasonable answer to these Questions.
While in Dayly Trance we are only SLIGHTLY Disorientated and quickly ''back to earth'' again when needed, we often DO have trouble giving a reasonable answer for a second or 2. While in Dreams we are so deep in that Trance that we often find outselves stupified with no reasonable explanation to Where you are, What you are doing there and How you got there.
A Dream Reality is only a ''moment'' it isn't really consistent. In Dreams you often FIND yourself somewhere SUDDENLY with no Recall of having gone there, Not a clue as to why you're there, and not even an idea where the hell you Actually are.
If you could make it SUCH a habbit asking yourself these Questions Regulairly While Experiencing Trance-states in the waking State + Doing an RC Immediately, This Habbit could become so much ''Your's'' that it Will become Incubated into your Dreams.
And then, when you do, You will Undoubtedly Find that you have not 1 reasonable asnwer to any of these Questions, and Therefor Realise you must be Dreaming.
But you should ask yourself these Questions Regulairly, no less than 20 times a day for possible succes I'd say and hopefully the ''Routine-Questioning Moment'' will Cotinue in your Dreams, immediately Proving to you that you're Dreaming.
Anyway this may help with Maintaining Conciousness high with WILDing and it has the potential for the Creation of a New ILD.
If it REALLY becomes an EVERYDAY and EVERY NIGHT (while falling asleep) habbit to Sharpen your Attention and Return to your Full Conciousness as you fell your Conciousness is Clouded and Attention isn't Sharp( As experienced in Dayly Trance and while falling asleep ) it would make for a Great Induction of Lucid Dreams-Technique.
Hopefully if this becomes a habbit just as much as Breathing is We will Find ourselves doing this in the middle of a Dream too: I can Imagine Doing an RC THEN, With Attention Sharpened, would also give Less RC failures and Post-Lucidity Distraction causing you to loose Lucidity again.
Perhaps something to do at least every Hour or so telling yourself: ''ATTENTION! STAY SHARP! SNAP BACK TO REALITY!'' and Taking a moment of Concious Soberness when you Find yourself in a Dayly trance ( I.E. Being Immersed into what your Reading, doing, or the Music you are listening: all forms of Trance that makes our Conciousness weak and foggy )
I usually get all hexed and entranced when I'm playig my guitar. It's like I'm Semi-Concious: I will/can NOT respond to ANYONE or ANYTHING around me trying to get my Attention: You'd have to call my name at least 5 times :| I'm so deep in trance then. ''Tranced out''
I might use This Concept to Try and stay Focus WHEN I FEEL TRANCED OUT while Playing guitar first, then when I'm tranced out while Reading Posts on DreamViews here, then when I'm deeply Tranced out by Listening to Music ...and hopefully next: When I feel tranced out my Dreams too: and in dreams I pretty much ALWAYS feel Trance-like.
The ''Trick'' of this Technique is to Learn to Recognise the Tranced out, Lowly-Concious State of Mind ( As Experienced in Dreams, But ALSO on many moments in Waking Life ) and when you do, try to snap out of it and ''awaken'' yourself a bit again, to become fully concious again and Immediately do an RC.
