Well it's been a while, but I did have a lucid dream last night, I was walking through a house that resembled my cousins' old place and I saw my great grandfather walk by, when it hit me that he had died a couple years ago, and I knew it was a dream. I tried advice and took it slowly before I tried to do something that defied reality. I tried something small, and tried to make a ball of electricity over my finger. Instead it didn't work and I woke up... any crittiques on what happened?

Figured I should add something... it wasn't TOTALLY inactive it just felt like though I knew what I was doing, I had no control, I remember walking down into a basement, and the steps and walls were shifting all around me
most people wake up on thier first one. it's common. don't worry about it.
I did!
Well it wasn't my first though... I've had them before it's just that I never seem to be in control, and when I try to take control I end up waking up

next time your lucid and you try to make a ball of electricity just really try to make it appear. tell yourself "this is a dream and i can make it appear"then actually picture it flaoting there. usually its hard to do stuff like that becuase were so used to it not working in reality and most of the time its hard to tell if your in a dream ,even if you get lucid you can go back to being to not being lucid so fast. but yeah, ive had problems like that becuase of the types of reality checks i do ,or did, or whatever but if you learn how to do that one, its safer than most. if you email me: [email protected] i can teach you how to have lucid dreams all the time. and if anyone else reads this and is interested in lucid dream coaching you can email me or instant message me too. later

Well sorry to be a moron then, I thought the point was to discuss techniques and ask for advice on how to improve upon them isn't it? Correct me if I'm wrong of course, it was a simple question, thanks everyone else for your input... though wasup's message could be inturpreted any other way :P

So my experience is a lil different I can't just make stuff appear, that damned scientist in me says I cant do that so... I have to exert will and manipulate stuff with the cost being my stamina, over time sure ive gotten stronger...
Heres one,
I was was walking through a house with some friends, it was dusk outside and the house had no electricity, I saw a candle on the mantle in the living room and walked over to it.
One of my friends "Hey come on, we have to keep looking.."
I cupped my hands around the wick of the candle
"What the hell are you trying to do? that wont work here"
The candle had already been burned, it knew what it was like to be lit.
I felt a zing of energy flwo through me as I concentrated.
I didnt force the candle to light, It was more like I drew the flame out of the candle, its purpose was to be a light source and to burn, because of that it wanted to be on fire, It just needed some help..
I pulled the fire out of the wick, the wax near the base of the wick started to melt I got excited I couldent beleive it was working, I focused more, trying to help the candle remember what it was like to be aflame, tiny little spouts of fire erupted in a few places on the wick and then it caught and it lit...
My friends had stopped
"wholll eee shit..."
"He did it?"
I was out of breath.. It took alot out of me
I grabbed the candle, "Yeah whats up now?!"
We then continued on our search.
Electricity is weird... hmmm
containing as a ball in air is tricky
Next time your lucid go to an outlet, and try drawing the current out of the wall, its a source so you only have to manipulate it, (its a start) after a while you will be able to create it on your own..
And instead of a ball try a linear spark between two fingers, so .. hmm depending on what your dominant hand is... I think your dominant is good at sending while your other hand is better at receiving, so in my case Right handed)I would pull the current out with my left hand (less dominant) and then channel it through my self and use my right hand to flow it back to the left making a loop.
To create a sphere you need to exert equal force all around, one handed is tricky as you need to enclose the top, use both hands at first.
Try working with Ki energy first its the life energy inherent in all living things, its much easier to manipulate than straight electricity.
Umm hope some of that helps... I start to rant around this time at work =)

That's a good idea for the outlet thing seri... where'd you come up with that?
hrm. Well, you started by trying to change something small, which is certainly the way to begin. I would suggest, when you are trying to make that change, that you don't do so by staring directly at your hand. Either close your eyes or look away, then focus on what you want to change--picture it--turn around, and *hopefully* see it! Remember that you're willing the change, and not forcing it.Quote:

Also, although I can't be entirely sure, I'm thinking maybe dougdrums was suggesting this should have been posted in the "Lucid Experiences" forum. I may be asking our new moderator to move posts around if need be, but since this is the general forum, I suppose they are still relevant here. Perhaps only misposts under the other forums will be moved...dunno.

This is exactly how I feel most of the time I lucid dream. In my dream I'm saying its a dream and I start doing all the things I think I'm supposed to do or have wanted to do in lucid dreams, but I don't feel in control and seem to go back into non-lucid dream. I often wonder if I was really lucid or just dreaming of being lucid. I've just started reading more and I understand now that there are degrees of lucidity.
