I do not get it.
I have a friend that has been trying to recall dreams better, not go lucid. He has actually gotten a few lucid dreams though with minor control.
My brother, whom got involved with LDing when I did, has had a couple dreams where he went lucid (but lost it due to various reasons).
Now, none of this would bother my much but I am the one actually obsessed with this stuff. My brother and friend get any and all lucid dreaming information through me, and yet, I have had maybe one dream (at the very end of it) where I was about to go lucid.
I think about it all the time, and yet, I almost have nothing to show. I even have better dream recall than both of them and have been trying the techniques (which they have not as far as I know). Heck, they do not even perform RCs during the day.
Maybe my problem is trying too hard. It has been said that when you don't desire something it will come to you. Maybe that is the next technique I need to try hehe.
Otherwise, I have no idea what I am doing wrong. Maybe they are more natural at becoming aware within a dream . . .

I know this piece of advice isn't of any use, but everybody will say this: Just keep on trying.
How long have you been trying? I'm sure not that long. It differs per person. And man, I know what you are talking about. I've told a couple of friends in the beginning when I just learnt about it (the same day even) and they got LDs within a week. I never had one (in 8 months!). The thing is, if you're too obsessed, it won't work. Let it come naturally, but do try induction techniques.

This technique may help you: http://www.dreamviews.com/forum/inde...howtopic=36064
Your problem may be indeed trying too hard. You accumulate all these suggestions but never release them. It's like constantly winding up a spring and expecting it to unwind and work. But it wont unless you let go and let the spring do its job.

Koji, I have a similar problem.
I used to get lucid dreams once in a while after I discovered this forum and browsed in once in a while.
Then I got very obsessed and started reading and thinking about lucid dreaming for a very fair portion of my day. I stopped getting lucid dreams.
Ev, that's an interesting technique. Thanks for bringing it up.
We probably all just need to get out more. ;)

ya, don't push yourself too hard to get one. thats what i've been doing for bout a week. I've been getting dreams, that i recall, but not lucid. But that is true what they say "when you don't desire something it will come to you." Lets say your looking through pile of random Lego blocks and pieces. Your looking for one certain piece, and u know that theres 100's, but no result. So you move on, giving up, an hour later, ur looking through and all you find are these pieces you've been looking for. hehe, always happened to me when I was younger :).
heres another example you could prolly test. your going down the road in you car (or as passenger) and you want to see a certian make and brand of car. but again, no result. so a couple days past and you forget bout it. so you find that car you were looking for, and it triggers your memory, and so its like oh, cool! so as the day passes, you see another one, possibly 4 more next, then maybe even 8?! hey, it does happen and it happened to me. I wanted to see an 87 crown vistoria (i know, not that great rite), but as soon i forgot bout what i wanted to see, for one month, nearly each day, i saw at least one.
so yah, just free your mind and dont fuss over it. u could still do RC's thru the day, but dont be thinking bout LD's 24/7.
