alright i thought about making a fake account but it was too hard. well anyways ive had a wierd experience. alright, first off, i do like women. but in my dreams (lucid) when ever i get down and dirty it always ends up that i am doing it with another guy. im getting kinda worried that i might be gay (not that thats really a bad thing but i dont want to be, its my decision anyways it doesnt really matter). do you think it could be from poor control, or maybe that desire that all humans possess to do it with the same sex or something, i dunno. well if you have any comforting words that would be cool, peace.

I find that in my dreams, even in most of my lucid dreams, my higher mind is not fully in control. More often than not, I end up becoming preoccupied with sex for the rest of my dream. It could be that your subconscious just happens to favor guys for some reason. Another possibility is a repressed curiosity, and there's nothing wrong with that.

If it really worries you, just keep in mind that as long as you can distinguish fantasy (dreams) from reality, you are in control.
Well life is short, so love the one ya' got, 'cause you might get run over or you might get shot.

I remember having some dreams that had homosexual content to it, and I'm not homosexual either. I wouldn't worry about it, I mean if you dream you are killing someone, does that mean you are a killer? If you dream you are a werewolf, are you a werewolf? If being homosexual is something that worries you, maybe that's why it's coming up in your dreams. Or it could be something else entirely. Your dreams don't censor and repress things the way your conscious mind does, as we all know. What reason does a dream have not to deal with homosexuality, violence, incest, or any sort of thing your conscious mind doesn't want to think about.

Like SoulSearcherX said it's common to do things in your dream you would'nt do in real life. I have had a dream where I killed my cousin and stuffed him in a hot tub. It haunted me for a few weeks, but I realized that I would never do that so it doesn't matter.

So don't worry. Your subconscience isn't going to take over and make you go screw a guy. Anyway everyone has at some point had some homosexual fantasy, so your not any different.

In my opinion, just the fact that homosexuality is something you experience in your dreams is not nearly enough to make you a gay person in real life. Haven't you ever dreamed or thought about stealing from your parents or, like pyrox said, killing someone for example? I think these dream ideas come from such a complex train of thoughts that chances are, they have nothing to do with your actual opinion or feelings on these matters in real life. I remember my dad being angry with me just before I went to bed and I dreamt that he had me locked up in a castle and I could go out one or twice a year, eating only bread... The weird part was that in my dream, I thought it was perfectly justified what he did...

So I'd say that if you have some gay experiences in your dream, the amount of possibilities on how they got there is so great that the simplest explanation (you being an actual gay person in real life) doesn't have to be it. If you're having them all the time and you're still freaked out about them, just try and test it in real life Stare at a naked hot male for a few minutes or something ^^ That should be enough to convice you (it seems you're not 100% convinced about your heterosexuality, since you created this thread) Another thought would be to get more lucid in your dreams and try to figure out why you're having the gay experiences. Use the sex with guys as a BIG dream sign that it's a dream ^^

Hope it helps! Have no shame

Well, there is one sure way of finding out your sexual orientation.... what kind of pornography do you keep?

Nobody wastes money on non-applicable pornography.

If your pornography collection is hetero, but your dreams are homo, well, this means that your Dream Persona is not entirely coincident with your Waking Self.

Just because you have the "I" first person experience of 'being' the Dream Persona when you are dreaming, it does not mean that you ARE the Dream Persona. In many cases during dreams we are simply VISITING a completely different personality.

Here is a question... when you are having a homosexual dream, have you ever looked into a mirror to verify that your Dream Persona is even pretending to be your Waking Self? We often do not know who our Dreaming Persona is. One time I was out taking a walk in a dream and walked by a long reflective glass door and only then noticed that I was not a representation of my Waking Self but was a young svelte woman in her twenties. You think I would have noticed the difference, as I am an old man, but it didn't occur to me in the least that I wasn't 'myself', until I saw it.

So, let us say that you are 'visiting' a homosexual Dream Persona. Well, maybe it is meant to create some sympathy and understanding concerning homosexuals.

Oh, and all of the prejudice is not just on one direction. There are many straights in the artistic and creative communities who are 'closet straights' and try to pass as Homosexuals for the sake of their careers. I myself in the capacity of being a Feline Adoption Advisor, when I have to talk to wives in front of their husbands, in order to be none-threatening, assume a Gay Manner. You think that Straight Guys are spooked by Gay Guys... well not as spooked as a Straight Guy can be when another Straight Guy chitchatting closely with his wife. I don't think I fool the women, but it reassures the spouses.

Now a lot of young men out there are wondering why anybody would ever 'act' gay. Well, I am old now and as an old man I am freer to be myself... Old Men are non-threatening. But when I was young, I noticed that society and nearly every social interaction was colored and influenced by concerns of sexuality. Guys worried about gays. And women either worried about being 'hit' upon, that is approached for sex or dating, or they were maneuvering for just that. But if you were a social person and simply wanted to have sex-neutral interactions with people, then one learned that one had to act reassuringly 'straight' when around the guys, but one had to act 'Gay' if one wanted to act one on one with women without that whole sexual dynamic thing kicking in.

Not much to add, just that you're not the only one! In fact, I'm asexual in real life... no boy (or girl) friend, no need to have a sexual relationship whatsoever. Friendships are my thing, and those can be closer than many romantic relationships.

But in my dreams... old, young, male or female, they've all shown up as partners some time or other. I always feel rather weird when I wake up from one of those, having found myself doing what I don't like to do in real life (or, anyway, don't think I'd like; I don't have any real-life experience--what's the point, if I don't feel like I need to seek it out?). I suppose that those dreams just mean that I have a physical sex drive just like anyone else, and that it's probably rather undefined since I don't use it; I just don't have any emotional need for romance or a sexual partner--I've never in my life had a dream with any romance in it, just sex.

I'm kind of lucky, though, being asexual instead of bi or gay... people don't have nearly the prejudice that they do for bi or gay people. All I get is a patronizing "oh, you just have to find the right man". Like people like me don't exist, or something... Well, we're a minority smaller than gays, but we exist, believe that.

cool topic, I've been wondering about that too since I get it even though I'm not gay. I wake up and it feels really wierd thinking about. Also incest, I get that all the time, and that gives me even wierder feelings after I wake up.

Don't worry about it man.

In some dreams some occasional penis occures aswell, or a bunch of gay-bikers began to strip on stage. As long as it doesn't turn you on, but the touch of a woman does, you are hetrosexual I guess.

What strikes me is that his orientation is pronounced. He says is always leaning to a gay experience.
This would seem to point out you are curious about homosexuality or possibly you do have some gay tendencies.

I think deep down you feel what you feel.
*Are you confused about your gender preference if the dreams were taken out of the scenario?

hmmm..... well to answer leos question about my porn or whatever he said, that was a long time ago, and it was almost all women, there were some times out of curiosity or if something popped up i would watch it or see it that was homo, but not really that much. i am pretty sure now that i am just curious. the thing is that i never really worried about it until i started having homosexual things in my dreams and i think they were sorta carrying over into real life, but that was just because i was sickened and couldnt stop wondering if i really was gay haha. thanks for all yalls comments, im glad that its not just me having this kind of stuff happen.

I think, if you're gay, you don't have to wonder... you just know.

That's what it was like for me; I knew from childhood that I never wanted to get married or have sex with anybody. I was never abused sexually, so that doesn't explain it; it was just there all along.

All the testimonials I've read or heard seem to point towards the idea that gay people generally know they're gay from childhood.

So my opinion... You're almost certainly not gay; you're probably curious what it would be like, though. No wonder--it's such a huge issue in our society, what with equal rights and gay marriage coming up so much in the news; and people who advocate shooting homosexuals sharing the world with people who are so afraid to offend that they walk on eggs around anybody who's gay...

Humans are social animals. We instinctively try to understand other people. I guess your brain is trying to figure out what it's like to be gay. After all, haven't you dreamed you were young, or old, or a different race, or the opposite gender? I know I have.

Dude, when you are fully conscious, if you like girls you like girls...there's nothing to it. You know deep down whether you're gay or straight. I've had similar experiences, although rare. I always wake up and things just don't make sense. I ask myself, why was that a guy? and more importantly, why did i almost get with him? lol

I think it's just a part of your brains exploration process of making sense of your sexuality. If girls turn you on than you like girls, it's that simple.

I've also had gay experiences in my dreams, it never got into sex though. More like hugging and kissing.
First of I was like "What the heck was that?". Later I just thought "Well yeah, dreams can be tricky " and then I stopped thinking about it.

If you really refuse in anyway to be gay, which I don't understand, then you're probably not gay.

If you’re worried about it, think about it. There’s nothing wrong with thinking about it. Tomorrow, could you just decide to be attracted to men? If you can, that means you are either gay or bisexual. If you can’t, you’re not. It’s that simple. Attraction isn’t a decision. You can’t just decide to be attracted to a specific person, male or female, because it would be convenient. That’s why I got no problem with homosexuals. I know they haven’t decided to be who they are because I know I can’t make a decision like that. If you think you can make that decision, you might as well accept it. You are bi. If you can’t, you’re not. Either way, no reason to worry.

Homosexual behavior for a straight person... like most of us.. I socially unexceptible in waking life. If u think about it this homosexual behavior could b like a "secret" (anytype not just sexual) maybe theres something you want to tell someone(doest have to be sexual). Think about it that way. Tell someone asecret if that helps and I mean an actual secret something worthy talking about not like "Pssst.... Im wearing my socks backwards..." if this doesnt help thn tell someone about this dream and in both instance say it to there face i-2-i contact. If this doesnt help thn someone knows a secret and someone thinks your gay.

maybe it's some kind of nightmare?
or maybe your brain is just exploring things that you'd never do yourself. i'll ask my friend if he ever dreamed something like this.
Do you know where you are?

Nightmare = any dream (even a seemingly benign one) with strong negative feelings involved. So if you were scared, angry, disgusted, etc. during the dream then it was a nightmare.

Re. Not being able to change whether you are attracted to someone: I think you can, actually, change that to some degree. Knowing the person well and spending time with them often results in love... thus the fact that arranged marriages are quite often happy ones.

Changing your sexual orientation... that might be more difficult, though. Maybe it happens naturally throughout some peoples' lives. If it's possible artificially, it probably has to do with changing your thoughts first, rather than just forcing yourself to pretend (which is never healthy). And of course you'd have to want to change... I don't think this is being researched because there are still so many people who think gay people are only a step removed from amoebas or something, so nobody wants to encourage them by doing research on changing sexual preferences.

yeah, i am definatley attracted to women, thats all i think about. so it is just that my brain must be exploring things, and i was probably just scared because of all the prejudice and stuff that goes down. but i do think you can sort of influence who you like. just imagine them taking a poo and then its all over....

Sexuality can cause the oddest problems...

Once, in one of my travels to India, I came across a curious book by this one self-proclaimed expert on the Kundalini Energy. No, I don't doubt him for a second, as he did in fact describe plausible experiences and visions.

But then there was some phenomena he told about which surprised me. You see, the book had been written largely like a Journal or Diary. The book took years to write. Well, suddenly, almost to the end of the book we are confronted by the fact that this man had been a Homosexual. And he only admits it there because he is telling us that the Kundalini had all at once 'changed' his sexual orientation. Much to his amazement, he suddenly found himself to be 'heterosexual'. And not just leaning toward heterosexuality but being full tilt obsessed with this young lady of his acquaintance. following her around with this throbbing hard-on heterosexual.

I can honestly say that I never heard of such a thing. and I suspect that it was all probably quite true. When one goes book to the earlier sections of the book, the author is indeed discretely leaving out all references to his sexual orientation, knowing that proclaiming his homosexuality would not do him much credit... not in India or any other society... well, accept perhaps San Francisco.

But then all at once to not only be heterosexual, but to be so bizaarly and extremely heterosexual. His stories were embarrassing to read. So they must have been true. Why tell a lie that one would be ashamed of, or that would make one look profoundly silly?

But then one wonders how to account for this sudden and unprecedented change in sexual orientation. The man did not tell us that his entire Personality had changed. There was no complete change in Identity as we would expect from a Revolutionary Coup amidst a bout of Multiple Personality Disorder. We were left with the impression that while everything else remained the same, only his sexual orientation had changed.

However, I wish I remembered the title. It would be good to review such an odd book, in order to see if I could discern any further clues for such a strange phenomena.

Hmm interresting what you say about his change of sexual preference. I also read that meditating on the Lowest Chacra, at the Groin, can go Wrong and in some cases lead to Perversion and extreme sexual drive, or complete lack of it. I guess it would be the same for sexual dreams, hetero-sexual ones and homosexual ones. I have had homosexual dreams but I can tell you I am straight and in waking Life I am quite disgusted by even the mere sight of 2 men Kissing: Something most hetero sexuals will agree with. Not that I have anything against Gay people, don't get me Wrong. But these dreams usually wake me up feeling all disgusted It's kind of terrible and funny at the same time, that you could dream such an unusual thing which you find disgusting in waking life Usually I don't plan these dreams and hardly ever get Sexual dreams, just some periods they flood me. And then still they are always Heterosexual dreams, sometimes with girls I REALLY wouldn't have picked to share the Bed with had I met them in waking life Homosexual dreams are rare. And quite funny how they leave you awoken with disgust about yourself hahaha

I don't think that, that will mean your gay in real life. Hopefully not. That would suck.

Why would I be gay if I never feel attracted to Guys? I'd have surely noticed by now if that were so. I'm 20 and I'm anything but one of those people that are in denial all their life. I'm one to face the facts as they are, stay in touch with reality and deal with it.
It would probably only suck to be Gay, because of the way society treats you. But anyone will find pressure by society morals and norms. I've always lived kind of Free of these norms and values since I have my own beliefs and I'm rather different than ''the avarage person'' so I've always had a struggle with Society and fitting in: I was always the Odd one out. And I take pride in the way I am. I don't need to ''fit in'' to a sort of Society set ideal-way-to-be, I don't need that. Those are illusions. I've got my own thing going.

So if I were gay, I'd have noticed by now and I would certainly not let society supress me: I never let society supress me and do as I wish. And that's okay as long as you keep to the law. Individual Freedom Reigns Supreme!

Now the QUESTION here is actually Why HeteroSexual people have HomoSexual dreams. I have had These dreams sometimes and I know alot of others on here had. They're open and honost about it. No need to be prude or Ignorant.

But that doesn't mean you're Gay.
Same for this: I can say wether a guy is good looking and attractive for the ladies; Doesn't mean I feel attracted to the guy. It only means that I can spot out a beautifully formed Human Being when I see one. Now alot of you guys think: ''now that's just Gay'', but You can easily tell when some guy is Ugly when he really is VERY ugly, HONOSTLY. Why wouldn't you be able to say he's handsom if in fact he is? Doesn't make you gay, just means you're honost and using the same Judgement on his looks when you would Judging the damn ugly guy.

I'm not Gay, I'm just honost and open.
I've got a girlfriend, love her and feel very attracted to her too. I've never had this type of feeling for a guy. Neither the Lust nor the love. Only felt that for Girls. I guess you can now fully accept that I'm in fact Straight? It wouldn't have worked out between us 2 anywayz

That's the whole Mystery: Why do straight people have Homosexual dreams? It is known that no 1 human being is a full 100% Straight or Gay. There's Gay, Straight, Bisexual and every ''sexuality-grade'' in Between basically. Perhaps this is the Reason for Straight people's Homosexual Dreams: To experiment a different Sexuality in a place free of concern and concequences: The DreamWorld, where you can get away with ANYthing.
