Well, there is one sure way of finding out your sexual orientation.... what kind of pornography do you keep?
Nobody wastes money on non-applicable pornography.
If your pornography collection is hetero, but your dreams are homo, well, this means that your Dream Persona is not entirely coincident with your Waking Self.
Just because you have the "I" first person experience of 'being' the Dream Persona when you are dreaming, it does not mean that you ARE the Dream Persona. In many cases during dreams we are simply VISITING a completely different personality.
Here is a question... when you are having a homosexual dream, have you ever looked into a mirror to verify that your Dream Persona is even pretending to be your Waking Self? We often do not know who our Dreaming Persona is. One time I was out taking a walk in a dream and walked by a long reflective glass door and only then noticed that I was not a representation of my Waking Self but was a young svelte woman in her twenties. You think I would have noticed the difference, as I am an old man, but it didn't occur to me in the least that I wasn't 'myself', until I saw it.
So, let us say that you are 'visiting' a homosexual Dream Persona. Well, maybe it is meant to create some sympathy and understanding concerning homosexuals.
Oh, and all of the prejudice is not just on one direction. There are many straights in the artistic and creative communities who are 'closet straights' and try to pass as Homosexuals for the sake of their careers. I myself in the capacity of being a Feline Adoption Advisor, when I have to talk to wives in front of their husbands, in order to be none-threatening, assume a Gay Manner. You think that Straight Guys are spooked by Gay Guys... well not as spooked as a Straight Guy can be when another Straight Guy chitchatting closely with his wife. I don't think I fool the women, but it reassures the spouses.
Now a lot of young men out there are wondering why anybody would ever 'act' gay. Well, I am old now and as an old man I am freer to be myself... Old Men are non-threatening. But when I was young, I noticed that society and nearly every social interaction was colored and influenced by concerns of sexuality. Guys worried about gays. And women either worried about being 'hit' upon, that is approached for sex or dating, or they were maneuvering for just that. But if you were a social person and simply wanted to have sex-neutral interactions with people, then one learned that one had to act reassuringly 'straight' when around the guys, but one had to act 'Gay' if one wanted to act one on one with women without that whole sexual dynamic thing kicking in.
