If I practiced guitar or piano in a lucid dream, would the skill added from the practicing in the dream carry over into real life?

Yes, it is technicly possible to sharpen your musical skills through your dreams. The only problem is that your dream could just make your music sound good even if your playing the wrong notes. Try it out and see how it works for you.
I would have done it last night when I realized I was lucid, but I really wanted to try and fly. Next time, maybe. But I really wanna fly D=
Absolutely!! One of the things you strive to improve in mastering any instrument is to quickly and accurately perform the fingering. Practicing in a lucid dream will help that.
However, it won't help you build those oh so needed callouses on your right hand fingers!!! :D

Yes. I haven't lucid dreampt but after browsing these forums I have found that taste and smell are in lucid dreams and are sometimes hightened. You can also feel things. Many people say that lucid dreams feel just like real life except more real.Quote:

Yeah, just take your current 5 senses, and then double how well they work. That should give you somewhat of an idea of how its like in a Lucid Dream (at least it is with me.)

Good question. I think in a way you could, and in a way you couldn't. I don't think you could get better in playing a specific song, like how you get better at it in real life by playing it alot, but you could get a better understanding of notes in your dreams, or something :)

I love playing the piano. I don't totally suck at it but I can be better. In my Lucid Dreams I play like a real professional and the music is so clear and beautiful. I had a cool lucid dream a couple of years ago where I was floating in mid air playing the piano and the crowd down below was dancing to every little tune. It was awesome. I think I've enhanced my skills in the waking world by way of Lucid Dreaming.

uhhh ya, if you think about, lucid dreaming is real. "real" is essentially electrical signals interpreted by your brain, which is that exact same whether youre in reality or a dream state. how can you distinguish between reality and a dream state when theyre based on the same principle?Quote:
