I just had a lucid dream last night. It was the first one I've had in a while, but I still couldn't fly. There was one time where I jumped through a window and landed on a car in a driveway. I sort of floated down while I did it, I went crashing head first through the window, and did a flip, and then landed on the car. (and shattered the whole top of the car too)
I was able to jump really high too, but I just couldn't get it. I remember a part where I was flapping my arms, and got up a bit, but I just couldn't stay up for long.
The dream on the other hand was rather fun. I just ran around a lot, and had fun. I recognized a dream sign, and that made me even happier. And the way it...felt I guess. I haven't really had a lucid dream like that before.
Anyone know how I could actually manage to fly? I've done the whole "this is my dream" before, but I may not have been believing it.

Congrats on the LD. I am thinking maybe you need a crutch of some kind to use until you gain more confidence in yourself. Maybe like the magic feather dumbo used when learning to fly.
Perhaps you can look around next time and find a jetpack or something to strap on? I have absolutely no doubt that you can fly faster and longer than any bird in the sky, now all you need to do is believe in yourself.
But until then, find a jet pack! :)

Myes, indeed. Wings are the best way to fly in my opinion. I don't care what Southwest Airline says.
But learning to fly with wings can be difficult. I agree with what Seeker said, maybe some sort of prop, or aide to help you.
In fact, the first time I flew in a lucid dream, I had to lash very long fan-like blades to my arms to do so.. Hehe, long story, anyways, keep at it. You'll get eventually.

My first flying dream, I was able to do it no problem. I didn't even think about it, just got a running headstart, and jumped.
Can't really tell ya anything that hasen't already been said, other than, jump off of a really high building and try to fly like your life depends on it.

Hmm, thanks guys. I definitely will keep that in mind next time. But I've really wanted to fly without anything. Like you said Seeker, confidence is the best thing I guess.
I usually just try the whole Matrix thing, do the gesture, a few times I didn't try that though. One time, I just sort of ran and jumped, but yeah, didn't work out too swell.
Thanks again guys.

all I can say is practice makes perfect. I think in the end some people will progress faster in Lucid dreaming but... Like with a musical instrument practice will make perfect. it is actually your subconcious believing that you can't just believe that you CAN

The big trick to it is not to think about it. I've been have problems, but I had a lucid this morning. I decided to fly, and instead of really thinking about it, It just jumped and went off.
I can't seem to go hyper speed yet, though. :?

Just act like you are on a holodeck or something and say 'gravity off' or something. If you can't achieve something in a dream, just chaning the (dream) 'reality' you are in kind of works.

Or just sing 'i have the power'. =)

Hahaha, nice.
But yeah, thanks guys, I'll keep this in mind the next time I have a lucid dream.
