I had one when I was 14 . . .I had no idea what they were called at that point but then I saw a book on the bookshelf of a lady I babysat for called "exploring the world of lucid dreaming" and I just knew THAT was what it had been. So I borrowed it. Unfortunately I've not had another lucid dream since (11 years later) but I keep trying.
This topic could be interesting. I hope everyone posts.
thanks! :D
Though I have never had a REALLY, proper LD, my earlist recollection of an "aware" dream was when I was 10ish. I was in class, everything had a strange greenish tint (I think that is one of my dream signes, as sometimes when I wake up i recall having "green" dreams.) My primery school techer was asking a question to with I knew the answer. I stuck up my hand, the teacher asked me, and I went blank. My mind said o itself: "this cant be happening! We know EVERYTHING! (<--true :) ). I must be asleep." to wich i responed: "EJECT!". I snaped my finger, and I was awake. Next day my dad said when he went past my room, my hand had been stuck in the air! lol
anywas, since then I had a mild interst in dream control. I wonderd "if I could wake up on comand in my dreams, what else could I do?"
7 years latter, we got a good 'net conection, I remembered my goal, and her I am!
'Waking Life' led me here. I can't imagine watching that movie and not learning more about lucid dreaming!
I heard about it while I was looking for things about astral projection (which I could never get to work because I'm too impatient to relax and meditate). My first thoughts about it was, "Being able to control your dreams? That sounds boring. Why would anyone want to do that?" But of course I was judging something before I really knew what it was.
Then a few months ago I was looking through a humor forum I go to and there was a thread about dreams. One person posted a link to www.dreamviews.com. I clicked it and read what was on the front page. Now knowing that lucid dreaming was much more than what I thought it was I got more interested in it. A few days later I looked at the forum and saw all the awesome stories and how other people lucid dream.
I still haven't had a lucid dream yet but I am not going to give up on this like I gave up on astral projection. I am determined :goodjob2:.
Hehe.... I was searching images for myst 4 when I found a good one. I click the link and it was an image posted this forum as a dreamscape XD
This was the last thing I was expecting to find XD
I read something about it in my psychology book and I wanted to know more, so I searched the internet, and came here!
I was looking at all these paranormal things and on the side it had the world Lucid Dream and all I thought was this is what I've been doing as a little kid, because when I was a little kid I could go in and out of my dreams, pick up where I left off on the previous night. I read the description and thought what if I search for a forum on Lucid dreaming and here I am.
I've LDed since I was little and never knew much about it. I called it "remembering you were dreaming" even though "realizing you're dreaming" makes more sense.
I went on Facepunch forums everyday on general discussion to keep me busy till some games for PC came out and I found Lucid Dreaming UberThread, learned about LDs and it lead me to this forum and LD4ALL.com.
I'm more active here because I like this forums look.
I haven't had a lucid yet... or maybe I did. How am I to know when I only recently have started working to recall my dreams?
Anyway, I originally read about it in the Young Wizards series, book number 6: A Wizard Alone. In that book they use a spell to initiate it, so I thought it wasn't anything real.
However, then on Steve Pavlina's site (http://www.stevepavlina.com/) I found a podcast about lucid dreaming. So I started searching and ended up here a lot, but kept ignoring it until I started going through the forums. Then I signed up :)

Chatter-Box: btw, that ld4all site looks interesting. Thanks for the link. :)
I had a few LD's when I was about 6, I never knew what they were but I did some random search on the internet a few months ago and found this site.
i found the link on HowStuffWorks.com
when they talked about how dreams worked or something...
since I've joined this web, though I've been having LDs since I was a little girl
I heard about the "OLD HAG" dream and became interested in how it happened and learned soon after about lucid dreaming. I then searched it up on the internet and in a few links I was here.
My friend, who had read Exploring The World of Lucid Dreaming but had never researched it online, told me about the actual practice of lucid dreaming. It clicked with me because I recalled having 2 or 3 lucid dreams as a child. They were very memorable experiences that have stuck with me all my life. Anyway, I was just fascinated at the thought of being aware that you were dreaming, so as soon as I got back to my room I googled "lucid dreams" and found this site. The rest is pretty much history. I think I joined the forum that same day and started a dream journal that night.
i was looking at "eggs" on this website called rotteneggs.com and i came across one called controlling your dreams.
i was really interested. it had a link to dreamviews and ld4all.com at the bottom of the post. i've been hooked every since reading a few forum posts.
i almost didn't read all the way through. i'm glad i did now.
when i was 13, i saw Waking Life. I had no internet so i couldnt look for more info, but 3 years later, i obtained it.
The movie was still in my mind so i look for lucid dream pages (in spanish), and i started to write my dreams and make RCīs and all that stuff for almost 3 months. then the school period broke my progress, but i discovered this forum and started to train again about a month ago.
waking life rulez
I found out about lucid dreaming when i were 7 or there about, when i had my first one. But it was first ten years after that, when i had an extremely clear dream, that it triggered me to google for a little more information. From google to Wikipedia, from Wiki to LD4All, from LD4All to here.
a friend of mine explained them and i searched "lucid dreaming" on google :)
I stumbled onto a page describing lucid dreaming... (Google's "Stumble".) When I read it, I recognized that I used to lucid dream as a child... and really wanted to do it again!
I was at the other big forum for a while and got into a bit of a tangle with the site owner over my avatar... it was a misunderstanding over one of my photos, (she made a rather rash and very wrong assumption about it,) but the way it was handled really left me cold to the whole thing. So I left.
And I came here!
I've been lucid dreaming since I was a young child....I've been able to control my dreams as long as I can remember...It's weird I didn't realize I was doing anything special until I stopeed having them....recently I've been going through a dry spell for the past couple of weeks and am getting worried that something might be wrong...I think it might be stressed related though...anyways I have no idea how I do it but I am under the impression that there are various types of lucid dreaming because the lucid dreaming I experienced as a teenager were more control oriented and now when I dream I either travel or I fell as if I am reinacting past lives. Does anyone else feel as if they can tap into their past? I have also had dreams that were more real to me than our observed everyday reality....And have in fact feel as if I can sometimes astral project for lack of a better word....because most of the time I am simply an abundance of energy and when I arrive at a destination or a place in time everything seems so different not like other dreams I have experienced. When I'm dreaming I know I'm dreaming but the dreams I have been having for the past year dont feel as if they are dreams they feel as if they are something different. I am conciously aware of people around me that arent apart of me that are entirely seperate entities...It is somewaht scary...and sometimes they have negative energy and they keep trying to "connect" to me. And when I tell them to stop they go away for awhile while I'm dreaming but occassionally they come back it is frightening...Does anyone else have this happening to them????
I was browsing a wet dream forum and some guy was talking bout LD's, so i started researching it and it brought me here.
I was djing at this club and i played "Silent Lucidity" as the last song. This guy asked if i knew what lucid dreaming was, and i was instantly hooked. It took me almost 2 years before i had one, but here i am 3 years later, and now i have multiple ld's in a row. Lucid dreaming is probably my favorite thing to do. I tell everyone, but not just anyone cares, only about 1% of the people i tell.
I firstly heard about Lucid Dreaming from Star Trek Voyager, funny enough the Episode was called "Waking Moments" alas I thought it was a star trek thing! but when I started reading Psychic books I heard it was actually possible to obtain Lucid Dreaming I've tried the basics in contacting my Spirit Gudie or Guardian Angel but no luck with a bad posture (looking like the hunchback of notre damn) and find it extremly hard to relax I couldnt achieve a fully relax meditative trance... my first possible Lucid Dream I've had which i'm still not sure it could be a Lucid Dream was 29/8/06 my entire thoughts became louder and filled the world around me like my thoughts became an echoe throught the world...
but meeh it could've been something else...
Any way I guess why I'm here is because I'm trying to find an easier way to get intouch with my Spirit Guide after a few weeks on being here my dream recall has improved majorly I now can remember everything I dream! (usually atleast!)
I had lucid dreams all the time as a kid and loved it, so I just kept my ability from disappearing completely over the years. Some of my friends and I actually made a club about LDing back in the 2nd grade. :D
Coming here in particular some good luck on my part. I was talking with someone one day and LDs came up somehow, and he gave me the link.
