i drink excessive amounts of caffine and i don't think much is different from when i didn't
If anything, I get more REM in proportion with sleep, even though I get less sleep because of the caffeine. At least, I am able to remember more dreams... possibly because I am not in as much of a deep sleep. I am able to wake up after a dream easier.
This is a good one, whenever i eat something like icecream or anything sugary before i go to bed, my dreams are SOOOO much more vivid. There's always that risk of falling into a bad nightmare too because it'll get really extreme (the kind of fear u cant get in the real world). But try sugary stuff before sleep.
Actually, ingesting caffeine during WBTB (3-4,5 hours after asleep) suppress deep sleep and prolong REM phase. I've read EEG study on the matter.
Bringing this one back from the grave aren't you Nfri? :P Check those dates! Just a few days from being a decade old, wow I actually didn't even know DV was that old.
We all differ in our resonses to these various nutrients and supplements, of course. Caffeine, from coffee, does diddly squat for me; doesn't harm my sleeping, and doesn't stimulate me in any way either. But that could be less to do with the caffeine, and more to do with some of the other ingredients in coffee.
i have had atleast one good experience mixing marihuana (1000x melatonin) with caffeine. 45 minute power nap after prolonged period of sleep deprivation. very good and relaxed thinking and instant rejunivation!
