      Last night I became lucid
I was just laying in bed as if I woke up in the middle of the night
when my dad yelled out something really weird
I realized it was a dream..

      well..
I was wondering if anyone else experiences the problem of..
having their dream body feel unusually heavy?

I was trying to sit up in bed
      and it was SO hard
      my body felt SO heavy
I got half way off my bed
      and I couldn't continue
I was literally trying to pull myself up by reaching out my arms
this isn't the first time it has happened

does anyone else have this problem?
      anyone have a remedy?

Yup I've experienced that before it's because you are still somehow aware or tied into your physical body mentally which is in a state of Sleep Paralysis. To break this you have to immerse yourself further into the dream to untie yourself from your physical body. What would work pretty well for you is, instead of doing the normal things of moving your body do something out of the norm. Don't try standing up like normal imagine yourself floating up instead and the more you concentrate on defying the natural laws of what your mind associates to what is in the physical world the further into the dream you will go thus disassociating yourself from your dream body. Good Luck!

Wasn't that what people in the middle ages thought were demons sitting on a possessed victim? It used to happen to my mother alot and it totally freaked her out until I explained it to her
Be aware of your thoughts, for your thoughts become words
Choose your words, for your words become actions
Control your actions, for your actions become habits
Watch your habits, for your habits become your destiny...

In short, our thoughts become our lives

It's your dream so command that you be able to sit up. Are you sure that it's not SP? If so then just close your eyes and focus on entering the dream.

I get this often in LD's, in the ones I WILD-ed into.

In these dreams I 'wake up' aware I'm dreaming, in whatever position I fell asleep in, in real life. It's like I'm locked in sleep paralysis. I, being stubborn, always pull all of my energy or will into my mind and force my body to move. Once I move one small part of myself, say a finger or a toe, the rest of the paralysis falls away and I can usually get up and continue on with the lucid dream. Simply commanding myself to move doesn't work in these situations. While I may be vividly lucid, my dream control isn't always as strong at the start of a lucid dream.

I like Ne-yo's idea of just floating free. Perhaps Ill try that next time. Thanks for that man.

Your idea worked! Instead of struggling to move or break out of the 'dream paralysis' I simply floated up onto my feet. You're a genius Ne-yo!!!!!

      Thanks again.
