Cuddling with your loved one during the night...affects LD'ing? Yes, no, maybe?
What is your favorite sleeping position to maximize chances of an LD?
Cuddling equates to crowding to me. Being crowed means being uncomfortable which means I can't get to sleep. No sleep = no dreams, lucid or otherwise.
I did have a couple of LD's a while ago where I 'woke up' in bed. I couldn't get out of bed to take advantage of the LD because my bf's hand was on my back. It felt like it weighed a ton and was holding me down. But that's just me. Other people who enjoy cuddling may find that the bodily contact during sleep might carry over into the dream in a positive way and help them realize they're dreaming? Don't know. Just guessing.
I either sleep on my stomach with my arms crossed under my chest or on my side with my hands tucked under the pillow or my head. Just before I slip into a dream I start to feel my arms fall asleep and that feeling carries over into the dream. That feeling reaffirms that I am dreaming because the only time I feel my arms completely numb is at the beginning of a LD. Doesn't happen all the time but when it does it automatically triggers lucidity.
Now that you mention it, I usually have LDs late in the morning if I'm sleeping in and my hubby's already gone. But I have had some with him still in bed with me, though I don't think we were spooning or anything at the time. I guess I haven't thought too much about that before - so good question!
For me, I can't think of any specific sleeping position that yields more LDs. I think it has more to do with timing and awareness for me.
whenever I've awoken from an LD, ive been lying on my right-side
I have had LDs at all different times, in different places and with and without my wife at my side.
The most frequent, though, have been laying on our couch up north when up there by myself - and laying on my right side.
When I WILD, I lay flat on my back, because it makes relaxation techniques easier, I think. MILDING, I usually find I wake up from dreaming laying on my left side, which suggests, its either different for different people, because what other people hace said or it is entirely random, which may not help answer your question.
People tend to sleep better alone, rather than with a partner, so I'm not sure cuddling would improve lucidity at all.
