do i have to keep my eyes closed when i entered a lucid dream?
You won't have your real eyes in control when you are in a dream, you only have the control of your "dream eyes". If you are talking about WILD, then I'm sure it should be done with closed eyes.
My first and only Lucid dream was last week and was during an afternoon siesta. I was laying on my bed and started dreaming and became conscious of the fact that I was dreaming.
I made a conscious decision to OPEN MY EYES. I saw the bedroom window (which was at an angle) and my vehicle parked in the driveway through the window. I made a conscious decision to walk (I wanted to sleepwalk) into the loungeroom where I called to my wife. When I started to levitate, it occurred to me that I might be dreaming. I made a conscious decision to open my eyes and when I did, I saw my vehicle in the driveway through the bedroom window. I closed my eyes again and I was back in the loungeroom. I realised that I had dreamt about walking into the loungeroom. In my dream, I got my wife and her friend to carry me back to bed. I then opened my eyes again and could see the exact same view of my car in the driveway through the bedroom window. I tried to turn my head and my eyes but could not alter the view. I memorised everything that I could see, a yellow T shirt on the chair beside the window with my walking stick leaning against it. At the periphiral edge of my vision I could see a green ribbon hanging from the wardrobe door knob. I closed my eyes again and woke myself up (for real). When I opened my eyes the view was exactly what I had seen during my sleep except now I could move my eyes and head. The ribbon, T shirt and walking stick were there.
I am convinced that I actually opened my eyes during my sleep and dream. People who sleepwalk also have their eyes open sometimes. Answers your question?

Well I don't know about eyes open when u lucid dream (I've never lucidly dreamt) maybe u had some kind of obe? Or maybe, you had seen what was in your room (seeing as though u sleep there it is possible) and your subconscious knew what was in there, so when u dreamt it simply projected what your room really looked like then?
I would think eyes closed is best for lding (at least when wilding or what not) but like i said ive never done it so good luck!
I remember when I first started this back in January, that I learned that you don't close your eyes while in a dream because you lose control. In my very first Lucid Dream, I tried to fly which failed but I made time go in slow motion which was a +. Anyway, in that dream, I closed my eyes and tried to focus on my goal of flying. That ended up making the dream end.
However, in my later LD's when I tried to jump through walls after I had successfully placed my arm through glass, after 2 LDs of failed attempts, I closed my eyes and just ran at the wall and jumped through it successfully and had my best LD after that because I was flying through the sky. There's a whole detailed story of the dream but I don't feel like posting it again.
In conclusion, I agree that closing your eyes is not a good thing to do. That doesn't mean it ALWAYS results in failure.
I open my eyes slightly every once in a while when trying to do a WILD.
Yeah, i've found that opening and closing my eyes is not a good thing. In one of my LD's i decided i wanted to wake up (i dont know what i was thinking then, trying to wake up :( ) well, i wanted to see how to wake up, so i sat down and closed my eyes as hard as i could, then when i opened them, i was awake in my bed. This probably isn't true with everyone, but its waht i've realized about me. :)
By the way hop_ic, is your avatar from "Blood the last vampire"? Just wondering...
