I wanted to make this topic as a sort of list for any books about lucid dreaming or related subjects. If there's already a topic about this somewhere (I couldn't find one...) please delete.

I own and read a copy of EWOLD (Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming; by Stephen LeBarge) and of course it's required for any oneironaut, imo. I was wondering what other books you all might have read.

I've only had the chance to read/find one other book; that is "Lucid Dreaming in 30 days". It seemed like a decent book at first glance; not nearly in depth as EWOLD, but is more handy like a guidebook to carry around, I guess. I don't own it, because I only got a chance to glance at it in Barnes & Noble. It's cheap: like $8.00 USA.

As for dream books, I rented "Dream Power" by Ann Faraday from my library. It's REALLY old, but contains some good info, and even a little on LeBarge! Hopelessly outdated, though; nothing in it that you can't find in EWOLD, to be certain.

I'm working on a list of dreaming-related books that I'm hoping will make it into the tutorial section. I'll let you know when I've got it done - shouldn't be too long - a couple days probably.

Altered States of Consciousness: An empiracle analysis for social scientists. By Imants Baruss. its good, it has alot of info on LD Hypnosis, Dreaming, and meditation. Also Handbook of dreams: Research Theories and Applications. By Benjamin B. Wolman. Another good book to look into. I still need to get EWOLD, where is a good place to find it? I looked in barnes and noble and in walden books, and haven't found it yet.

Looks nice, but its 50 buck :cry:, and the Handbook of Dreams seems to be unavailable on the Barnes and Noble website. Honestly, I haven't read one LD book, and don't feel I need to enough to buy one, though if I knew someone who owns and is willing to lend EWOLD (or some other good book) I would take it. Maybe next time I'm at the store I'll buy something if its like 8 buck. Maybe.

It was one of those books that when I was reading it I would get to a part where he would make an assertion or present a theory, I would disagree from the start and find myself reading 2-3 chapters where he supports or builds upon these theories. Specifically his ideas concerning the interpretations of dreams and waking life symbols. I don't think things can be broken down to be as clear cut as he claims.

I have searched this forum and compiled a list of dreaming-related books that people have recommended over the years. I have provided Amazon links to each book so the reader can obtain more information.

I have tried to separate them into categories based on the book description - some may be better suited in other categories (it's hard to categorize a book by a couple sentences in the critic review).

I'm hoping this list can serve as a starting point for anyone interested in dream-related books. This is by no means a complete list - like I said, I merely searched the forum for recommendations and compiled a master list for easy reference.

If you feel that any particular book listed here is in the wrong place, or if you would like to see a decent dream-related book added to this list, please PM me with the name and author of the book.

Please make this a sticky; although some people probably don't need books to LD, a lot of new DV members likely would benefit. Besides, sometimes it's nice to have an actual book by one's side, as access to the intra-web is not always available. I need a book not for LD techniques so much, but for people's methods on dream recall. Lucid dreaming books usually contain more personal methods than online.

BTW, thanks for all the book mentions. Awesome list! :)

I bought EWOLD at a "Borders" bookstore. I find it strange that they don't have it at Barnes n' Noble; they usually have everything. Is ordering online an option for you?

I have EWOLD and would lend it, but how would I got about doing such a thing? Would I mail it or something?

Actually, I bought my copy of EWOLD at a Barnes & Noble store. I also bought Lucid Dreaming in 30 Days.

That's a really great list. Though I am not too interested in Lucid Dream books, as I prefer the forum, but if I choose to get into OBEs or something, or just want to read a bit about dreams in general, then I'll definitely consult the list.

Sorry to bump this thread back up, but it's been about a year and a half since the last post here. I was wondering if people had anymore books they may have come across that is about LD or Dreaming in general. I am just finishing up Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming, and have really enjoyed most parts of it. Anymore suggestions? (also, books on the idea of schemas or the idea of "Tacit" and "explicit" Knowledge).
