Hey, I couldn't find a good forumcatagory to psot in so I posted here.
When I was really young, Somewhere between 7-10,I used to have nightmares. When I got to the point that the monster or whatever was about to kill/eat me, I realized I was dreaming and thought I should open my eyes. When I realized this I try in my dream to open my eyes really far, hoping to open my real eyes. I didn't really seem to think EXACTLY that I was dreaming, but somehow I just knew. It seems to be more of a reaction to the scare of the monster.
So what could this mean in attaining lucidity again? I haven'thad a LD since then, that I remember. Please input our advice and tell me what this could mean, and how I could attain lucidity with this somehow

It could help you that you know that you can do them... All you need to do now is have patience and persistance

I had the same general experience when I was about the same age, only I only remember it happening once. I wasn't sure I was dreaming, but I did know that what was going on was not possible and couldn't be real. None the less, I was very scared, but I didn't try to open my eyes.
It may give you the upper hand in that, like Smileyguy said, that you are doubting that its possible. There are people like my friend how doubt the possibility of lucid dreaming and therefore and much less likely to have one. If you believe they are possible and you just keep it up for, say, about a week or two, I'll bet you have your first lucid.
I got my first real lucid after only a week and a few days after joining dreamviews. You just have to remember to keep a good outlook on it, and don't get frustrated if you can't get it. It'll happen eventually.
