WILDs are "Wake-Induced Lucid Dreams." Its considered the "Holy Grail of Lucid Dreaming." You go straight from being awake, directly into your dream and start out lucid. Your still not entirely asleep when you pass into the dream as well, still going through the process into sleep.
There are tutorials on it here. Consult the tutorial board for more info.
ok I do that quite often.Isnt it one of the greatest things in life.
WILDS are da bomb!
WILDs are awesome :)
The holy grail, as said in the top :D
I think the "awesomeness" of WILDs are sort of over-pumped a bit. I mean... they're just like any other LD, except you start off fully lucid and usually quite vivid. Just like any other dream, you can still loose lucidity and vividity. WILDs do have a different "feel" to them though. More conscious, I'd say. But, I don't think they're at all the "Holy Grail" of LDing.
So what do you like better than WILD's? Do you have a holy grail of LDing? I'm not challenging you out of some loyalty to WILD, just curious if there is something specific you like better.Quote:

i dont think the ld you get from wilds are any different then a regular ld, but i do think that the process to getting that lucid dream is awesome :D just think about it, if you become good at wilding then you could have a ld whenever you wanted!
Well... the thing is, in any WILD, despite the vividity, "real" consciousness and lucidity, you still face the same problems as with other LDs. For instance, in the three I've had:
I still have problems with dream control.
I still have HUGE problems with stability. In fact, even MORESO than in normal LDs. I find it incredibly tricky to stabilise a WILD. In two WILDs I end up getting chucked out of the WILD in less than a minute.
And of course, there's also the problem with LOOSING lucidity. That happened to me in my first WILD.
I think WILDs are a double-edged sword. Because you start off with instant lucidity and conciousness and often vividity, there's less of a "fade into" lucidity and that can cause you to get chucked out. "System shock" type thing, because, you're living, walking, and breathing like in real-life, but you know it's a dream, and the lucidity's all to sudden to sort of "fade into" control.
yea I agree that they dont seem to last as long,I dont practice it as often for that reason.I think learning to realize your dreaming while in a dream helps you become better at it.I have learned how to control my dreams fully by not doing this.I also know when I am about to wake.
