I was just wondering how many dreamers feel pain or not while having lucid dreams?
I never feel pain in any of my dreams either Lucid or Non-Lucid. Usually if I fall or something bad it just feels like a funny tingling feeling I guess. Thats strange now that I think about it. I don't really feel pain but I can pick up on other sensations and feelings that are more heightened during my dreams. Like I can feel temperture changes.
I don't normally feel pain either, though I do feel something, normally it doesn't hurt to much. Except that one time that lightning hit me like 40 times in a row, that hurt a little. I think you might normally feel pain but then you forget most of the pain after. So even if you remeber everything else really good your mind might leave that out.
I feel very little pain.
the last time i've felt the "sensation of pain" in a dream was when i had my left index finger cut off... dont ask. when i went to flex it at the knuckle, it grew back. kinda cool. :D
I have never felt pain in a dream... I think if you are lucid, your brain may not register pain because you know it's a dream. Come to think of it... I don't even think I have felt pain in a regular non-lucid dream. I'd like to here what it feels like if any of you have felt pain, and what kind of pain it was. Anyway........ No pain no gain right? Ahh I'm cheesy
its not so much as being pain, just your subconscious trying to portray the "pain" when something painful happens. it kinda tingled a little when my finger was cut off. but it felt the coolest when it grew back. kinda like my skin was being stretched.
I can sometimes feel pain, but half of the time it's when i jab my elbow into the wall or hit my head on the headboard.
I felt pain once in a dream. I was surroundeed by samurais brandishing swords, there was no escape. They ran in towards me. I pulled my arms up over my face in self-deffence. The next thing I know, there is a horrible stinging feeling on my left arm. I wake up to find that I have a cut in the same spot! Talk about wierd.
not so much. -- i kind of have a follow up question that doesn't merit a new thread...
do any of you have wind in your dreams? i have wind but i can't feel it on my skin for some reason? like i'll grab a kite and it will pull me up into the sky... but i don't feel any sort of sensation on my skin...
I make kites for a hobbie and I attach bright colorful led lights to them for night flying.I really have fun with the crowd when they think they see a UFO.I also have some lighted frisbees and some other fun toys for the night.
anyways...I had a few dreams of flying my kites and I,m down at the beach in the day flying my 8 ft. delta which is up about 200 ft. anfd pulling really hard. I,m holding the line just waiting for the line to snap under these high winds but the line never snaps.
come to think about what adidas said about not feeling the wind on your skin well neither did I.the wind resistance of holding the kite line felt very real but nno wind around me.I feel the same with dreams of riding my motorcycle.I could be going real fast on a road but zero wind resistance.
The pain is usually dulled from what it would feel like in the waking world.
I have only felt pain when there is a proper real world reason for me to feel it. For example, a recent dream was I was wearing a belt and pressed a button on it, and it became shorted, crushing my body. I woke up with stomach cramps. I reckon it was the stomach cramps coming into the dream as opposed to the dream experience creating the stomch cramps
Me too. I used to have horrible pain-filled dreams, but the pain has always been muted -usually gunshot wounds or knife cuts/slashes.Quote:

What makes them interesting, (some might ask why continue in a painful LD if you can just wake yourself up or change the dream) is the fact that I've become familiar with them and thus any fear subsides quickly. Instead of fearing the pain, I feel the pain... and learn from it.
Hmm. Yes pain is greatly muted, BUT.....
It seems like the pleasureable sensations, ranging from a warm breeze up to the erotic are much more intense in my dreams.
Wonder why that would be?
I feel pain, just like in the pshysical usually..and it sucks I can tell you that :?
