      Unhappy

      Hey Guys,

I started a DJ 8 days ago, and it was great the first three days, I was remembering 2-3 detailed dreams a night, then it went to two, one, none, one, none etc, and it's really annoying me...

Do you think it is because I'm trying too hard, thinking too much about dreaming? I'm also not sleeping well at the moment, really annoying.

      ---

Also, how long did it take you, (after finding out about LDing), to LD? I'm just wondering, because I don't think I'm even close.

I'm going to bed in an hour or so, so, here's to hoping!

      Hope you're well,

      Charlie -

Getting tense about it can have a negative effect on both your recall and ability to lucid dream.

Take a couple of nights off, don't worry about remembering any dreams and don't worry about being lucid.

      Happy Dreaming!

      Hi,
Stress could also effect recall, as many people say. Take Seekers advice and don't worry about LDing. With your recall, which I'm sure will return, you'll probably have an LD in no time.
      Good luck!

      I hope so.

I've got Exams when I return to school, and I have been worried that I'm not revising enough, which may be something to do with it.

I'm relaxed right now though, not really worried about anything, got lots of revision done today, and I'm happy, hopefully that will help!

      Thanks for your replies!

The important thing is that the concept of lucid dreaming is now a part of you. Do as seeker said. Take a break.
It will be there when you can return to give it the mental resolve it may require.

      * good luck with your exams!

I find that there is a DRASTIC reduction in the amount of dreams I recall if I don't sleep well. When I get 8-10 uninterupted hours of sleep I can sometimes remember 1-2, but if I have a headache or something, I usually can't even remember what they're about...

okay, I got up like an hour ago, and I didn't remember any again, it's really annoying, but there's not much I can do about it.

      Thanks for the replies guys,

When you first wake up, just keep your eyes closed and stay still for a moment - this usually helps me. Try to focus on what you were last thinking

You could also try setting your alarm clock to ring 4 1/2, 6, and 7 1/2 hours after you fall asleep - that should wake you up right after you finish dreaming.

      Good luck!

Remember when you wake up and think ohhh I don't remember any dreams dam. Just lie down still in the same position that you were when you were sleeping close your eyes, don't think of anything else but trying to remember what the dream was but don't stress. Do that for a while and if you can't get anything think of things that always appear in your dreams like dream signs or people that are always in your dreams. Or sometimes thinking what you did yesterday can help. You might get a emotion or think something to do with my dad was going on, just work with that thing and you will usually pick up the dream. I try to do it every morning and it is amazing sometimes how you can get a page or pages of dreams when you thought when you woke up that your mind was completely blank.

I think I might not have remembered this morning because my mother got me up and spoke to me and turned the lights on etc, annoying, lights just make me forget my dreams near enough instantly....

      Thanks for the tips guys,

Same here! Sometimes I wake up, and I feel like I've had no dreams. Then I close my eyes, try to clear my mind for a minute. Usually after that minute things start to appear in my mind, and I can usually pick up a whole page consisting of dreams, while I thought I didn't remember a thing.

Also, taking a break like Seeker said, can do wonders. I took a few days off (not intentionally), and when I did that I had 3 lucid dreams in 4 nights... Which was pretty cool. This doesn't mean doing nothing about lucid dreaming will only increase your dream recall and amount of lucid dreams, but taking a break now and then is good. Sometimes you're just on a plateau, and things only seem to get worse. When you're back from the short 'holidays' you've been taking, you usually take a big leap to a new level. At least, that's how I think about it.

Good luck. Just believe you're able to lucid dream, and I'll guarantee that you'll have a lucid dream anytime soon. It could even be tonight.
      Sure, why not?
