Dreamviews Fact Sheet

Ok folks, i thought this would be a good idea... The idea is to list ONE FACT about DREAMS/LUCID DREAMS and see how long the list can get..

Here are the rules..

1. You can only post ONE FACT, and you can only post ONCE on this thread.

2. FACTS cannot be repeated more then once. If it is, it will not count or it shall be deleted.

3. if you would like to support your DREAM FACT with some proof, you may leave a link to support it.


Helpful Ideas: It might be a good idea to do some research on DREAMS/Lucid Dreaming to gain more knowledge on the topic.

So please post your FACT's, and let the Dreamviews FACT sheet begin.

NOTE: i came up with this idea while thinking about how far i have come since i started Lucid Dreaming.. I remember in the beginning knowing very little about the topic..and now it seems like i know soooo much.. I asked myself...So can you ever really KNOW EVERYTHING about dreams???

That is the point of this thread..to see how much new information we can gain about our dreams..

Fact: Lucidity means you KNOW you're dreaming. You don't necessarily have to have control.

Fact : Some people are afraid of nightmares and some don't or even like them.

Fact: When in a LD, you have the potential to control every aspect of your dream.

Fact: Closing your eyes may lead to the end of the dream, the start of a new one, a false-awakening, waking up or nothing at all.

Not true. You'll never be in a position of total control. Some aspects of LD are beyond "control".

fact: Lucid dreams enable you to overcome your fears and problims by confrunting them in an enviroment were you have control

Fact: Lucid dreaming is real... in other words, there is clinical proof that it really happens.

I'm sorry. I thought that the subconcious was still a part of your mind.

Whoever mentioned anything about the subconscious?

The only opinions worth their salt are those based on empirical experiences. Learn LD and then make your mind up.

I've never found such a limit. LD's are unbounded.

Anyway.

FACT: Alcohol and marijuana severely impede dream recall and control.

Fact: REM eye movements can corrolate to where you are looking in your dream.

Lucidity now is right... this guy is an idiot. Just because he has shitty control in his dreams doesn't mean others can't control certain things. In a lucid dream... ANYTHING (in regards to dream control) is possible. A-n-y-t-h-i-n-g

Maybe no one has ever reached complete control, but Oneiro, you also didn't served any proof that it can't be done, so please don't be so harsh, and this goes for LUCIDITY NOW! too, rambling won't help.

You can't prove that... especially considering A) His experience doesn't dictate the experiences of others. And any "article" that says that is BS. I know plenty of people who have complete 100% control in their dreams.

First of all, 'reframe' doesn't make any sense, in fact it's not even a word. I think you meant 'refrain'.

Second, is it not true that reality checks improve your LD habilities?? (I may grant you that this was already mentionned in this post, so it may be repetitive). If you're not consious -- aware -- during waking hours, you simply can't all of a sudden be super-aware in your dreams.

And last but not least, where do you see the insult here??

Another fact about LD -> Lack of good night sleep hinders one's judgement! This is true for me as well, don't go thinking I'm insulting anyone here :)

Actually, 'reframe' is a very common term in NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) circles - it is one of the standard techniques, and a very useful one.

You seem like the sort who would want to know that rather than be speaking in error about the existence of a word, so there you go. Gotta watch for those beams while yer picking splinters, you know.

Meanwhile... FACT: Without developing recall, all of the lucid dreaming skill in the world isn't going to net you much of anything. (In other words, if a lucid dream happens in the woods and nobody remembers it, did it ever really happen?)

I do. this website is rife with alot of young men wanting to boast about their absolute control of their dreams. the internet is of course the home of the epeen and by its nature pretty much anonymous. Should I trust that someone hiding behind a pseudonym is telling the truth when they say they can do absolutely anything in their dreams?

It's not really very important whether some guy i don't know decides to embellish their stories but it's pretty boring to come into a thread to find guys chucking their wangs about.

FACT: this thread is spiralling like a doomed plane, but if you rub your hands together when in a lucid dream it can help to solidify the dream and stop you awakening.

FACT: Over-excitement in a lucid dream often causes you to wake up, so take it slow the first few times.

That is what "frame" means. You meant refrain don't try to BS your way out of it. Otherwise you are saying "Guys, please form again from etc. etc." He's right... it doesn't make any sense like when you said it. And btw, this isn't a Neuro Linguistic Programming circle. Even if it was, we are speaking english and refrain is right ;)
