Well I saw a new topic that said if you purposely over sleep then you will remember your dreams. I have done this many times (and thankfully did not get any head aches) and it worked. But I was wondering if they were actually counted as real dreams. This is because I can think in the middle of the dream a little bit and it doesn't seem like its real because I can think in my dream. I know some of you will tell me this is a lucid dream but I just think its not because I am half awake and half asleep. I think it can't be a lucid dream because I have been only practising for about a week. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Kennedy :) I know exactly what you are talking about in relation to the sensation that you are not completely asleep and you can "think." This also happens to me when I'm sleeping in in the later morning.
However, it's not actually lucid unless you realize you are dreaming. Once you have the realization, you are lucid. It's different than just being able to think differently or have control, if you understand what I'm trying to say.
It's definitely easier for me to become spontaneously lucid during these times, so I wouldn't be surprised if you experience LDs easier this way too.

I agree with everything Burns just said. You are becoming more and more conscious in your dreams. This is easier, when you're oversleeping, because your body isn't in that deep state of sleep that it's in, a few hours after you first fall asleep. On top of that, your REM periods get longer, the longer you sleep, so your chances of having more vivid, memorable and lengthy dreams go up, as well. Being able to think in your dream is a milestone toward being able to recognize that the dream is just a dream, so you're on the right track. :goodjob2:
