      Hi,

Something weird happened the other night that I beleived was a lucid dream, that came out of a slight wakeup with flashing lights.

(I was using a dreammask known as the REMDreamer but more importantly it was just lights that I was expecting that allowed me to become lucid) (You could probably do the same, by timing a device)I was dreaming about something happening in a forest where people were swinging on branches and other people were cutting down trees with the people in them, and all of a sudden I see these flashing lights. What happened next was that my dream went black. I knew I wasn't awake because I couldn't feel my waking body. And I recognized it was a dream from the lights out of nowhere. Soon, I began to hear a wooshing sound and felt like I was shaking. I imagined the sound as the wind, and over a period of about 3 minutes , A picture of a blue-green earth was conjured up in front of my eyes, as soon as I began to see it I tried to make it more vivid and soon enough I was genuinly flying over a globe of some sort.

I know this was not a WILD but is it possible that the flashing lights woke me somewhat into Hypnagogic Imagery and then back into a dream (because I was still paralyzed).

I'm not sure if this was a one time thing, or if I could continually time something subtle (lights) to wake me slightly at dreamtimes and allow me to "create" a dream.

      What do you think?

It can seem vague. I myself wake up partially a great deal. I will be having a lucid dream first usually; I will myself to wake up just enough to feel my sleep paralysis, and from there I project my mind outward and enter a dream much clearer and more real than the last. There can be tell tale signs for you as well. Usually whenever I perform a WILD I go through a "tunnel" and then appear over my bed.

It sounds to me like a WILD because you felt vibrations and heard the "wind in the ears" sound. I always get that sound when going through my "tunnel". If the dream gained sudden clarity that is a good sign as well. I believe LaBerge also stated this was the most common type of WILD. Not everyone is aware that they have done it.
