Ok here goes, basically what i had in mind was to close my eyes at night with my intentions set, then put on a song that i like but keep it fairly loud but not so loud that it'll keep you awake, as you listen to it try to relax and at the same time sing along with the song in your head, feel happy that your going to have a lucid dream (or hope to) just follow the lyrics and be persistant, don't slip at any point by giving in to your relaxed consciousness, it doesn't need to sleep, your body needs to relax but your brain doesn't, just convince yourself of this, and hopefully by following a song you feel more excited about having a lucid dream thus keeping you awake for a bit longer. I'm testing this tonight, its a long sot but what te hell its worth a go to keep me awake for a bit longer, i find that if i listen to slow calm music i will easily drop off, find something that will keep your mind busy, i think the best way is to pre-occupy your mind with something else so that you don't even consider losing consciousness and drifting into the dream world.
