so ive noticed whenever i attempt to induce sleep paralysis i start to get real itchy. its like my body is just tempting me to scratch and ruin my sleep paralysis. this happen to anyone else?

YES, oh yes. whenever I try do to a WILD (or induce SP), my body gets itchy, so I have no choice but to scratch, thus messing up my concentration!!! It ANGERS me!!!! :mad: :pissed:
I hear you LOUD and CLEAR buddy. I have the exact same thing. EVERY time I try WILD I get unbelieveably itchy. It always ruins my concentration, either thinking about it or scratching it.
Is the itchiness similar to the feeling you get when you're leg falls asleep or is it just a plain old itch? I can imagine that if you think about getting itchy and ruining your sleep paralysis, you more bound to notice that you're itchy.
I worded that kind of odd. In other words: think about being itchy all over right now. Did you get itchy? The more you think about it, the more you pay attention to it.

I too have this annoying problem.
I have, however, read in a number of meditation guides that there are a couple of strategies for dealing with it:
A) Ignore it completely, as if it's not there. (this doesn't work for me)
B) Do the direct opposite and focus on it intensely, analyze the itch, pick it apart, question it. I think the reasoning behind this is that the best way to face an oncoming wave (in the ocean that is) is to dive right into it.
I've had only mild success with this technique but at least it's better than nothing.
The itchiness is a natural response from your body... Its trying to MAKE you move. Its trying to see if your awake, because if you are you'll feel it and move. Your body doesn't understand that you would WANT to be paralyzed.

Trust me when I say this, sitting in handcuff's for three+ hours really teaches you how to deal with itches you can't get to. I've learned to just block them out. Plus, I should note that the best time to WILD is when you are really tired, not right when you are going to sleep. I suggest setting your alarm to go off in the middle of the night, slamming it off, and then trying to WILD. It will come to you much easier.
At least you don't have exploding head syndrome like me :)
