      Cool effects of sleep depriviation.

Background : 2 nights ago I slept just 5 hours. I woke up tired and remember just 1 dream . The day after that, I stayed up for almost 20 hours.

So when I hit the bed yesterday, I was really really tired.

Immidiately after going to bed, I started seeing weird HI: hundreds of absolutely real looking pictures rapidly showed before my eyes. Which was awesome....

Within next 3 minutes, I felt a WILD like sensations, of my body stretching, rocking and being pulled to the side. I felt the bed "breathe" below me. I tried to follow it, but failed (or didnt?)...

Next thing I remember, I was laying in my bed , thinking I just failed WILD. So I relaxed and focused on the noise in my ears.

Amazingly, there was no usual "high pitched sound", but heavy metal music. I dont normally listen to it, but it was there. (It wasnt in my head, I actually heard the music, as it was coming from somewhere in my room)

It was really cool. I could "direct" the music, even tho I didnt enjoy it.

Basically my mind threw together a bunch of random fragments, which mixed together, creating an awesome sound. (I've heard a similar mix of trance music in my dreams before)

It was so cool. I fell asleep within next 10 min and had an awesome DILD...

wow thats weird. people undergoing really long sleep deprivation are known to have "waking-dreams". you need to sleep or else you'll go temporarily insane

I wouldnt recommend sleep deprivation in order to acheive LD. Sleep is a wonderful thing, LD just enhances that experience.

      Advantages of sleep depravation:

      http://www.dreamviews.com/forum/viewtopic....2837&highlight=

I believe that sleep depravation causes more vivid HI. It is as if your subconcious is trying to over ride your waking mind. (Because it needs to)

It seems however, to be difficult the more tired you are to induce LD's. Don't you think?

7 days huh? I have a hard time staying awake for 12 hours, unless i'm doing something productive.

There was another thread on something like this before. I think shadow started it.

it basically posed an experiment about depriving yourself of sleep and then sleeping for like 3 hours or something.

If you could dig up the thread it would probably be helpful

My last lucid dream came after sleep deprivation. I just got back from a camping trip, where I did sleep, but I don't think it was very good sleep at all because i woke up so many times during the night. I was so tired when I got back that I went straight to sleep, and had a DILD.

Do you think that Lucid dreaming often can pose a lack of rest for your concious mind?

Yeah, I remember shadows thread. But I am pretty sure he had never tried that out himself, it was just a theory he had...

Update: I decided to dig up Shadow's thread:

I've also heard that sleep deprivation helps for lucid dreams... but it doesn't make any sense to me at all.
Surely that would just cause more delta sleep, and make it even harder to become lucid... or when your body is finally rested, are the lucids better then?

      ...Doesn't make much sense really...
