If you usually become aware of your dreams while your dreaming like I do, what would be the best, most dependable way to go somewhere else? Like, if I'm sitting at some boring discussion about timeshares and realize I'm dreaming, should I imagine something, then go out the door, or reach in my pocket and pull out a TV remote to "change the channel", or what? I've been thinking about these techniques for a while, and the door thing has worked for me before, but I want to know what works best for you, or anybody.
Things I want to try:
- The door thing
- The TV remote thing
- Calling out loudly
- Just closing my eyes and imagining myself somewhere else
- Moving the scenery apart with my hands like opening a window to reveal a new one underneath
- Going around the corner. This one kinda has my doubts, as going around corners is typically associated with something bad beind behind there. Since it's a dream, it would be more of a nuisance than a scare as you an completely lose your train of thought after seeing a monster or something else standing in the way.
- Changing the dials or pushing buttons on any kind of elecronic item laying around
- Typing in your scene on the computer

Ive been having these ld's latley that start where I fell asleep which is in my very small dorm room. I usually leave by flying out a window or door to go to diffrent locals. One time when I was in the sky I created a blue portal by asking for it to appear. Flying through that lead to a totaly diffrent world.

Try finding/visualizing a mirror in your dream. There was an experiment conducted by Laberge and crew that incorporated this. You might find the mirror unyielding, or you might go through it. When going through it many experience a complete change of scenery.
It's a thought.

Fly up to the sky and threaten God. I'm serious.

I was thinking today, another thing that could work better than the TV remote is if you actually changed the channels on an actual TV and after you got your desired scene, climb in it. That's another thing that could work.
