One thing you need to remember, is keeping a positive attitude. Just remember that you will eventually break the ice in your head. You control your mind, and will lucid dream, if you concentrate on it. But, allowing yourself to become frustrated isn't an option. It will only make you become burnt out on it, and you won't try hard enough to do it. Anyway, keep it up. You will be a success, if you persist!

I suggest trying something different every day. There are a lot of techniques besides the ones you mentioned, and most techniques have more than one way you can use them. Plus, you can combine techniques, and then there's all the things you can try that don't fit neatly into techniques, like different reality checks, ways of thinking, etc. If you just keep trying different things, you're bound to find something that works.

Read through some of the dream journals on this site. I went for a small stretch without a significant lucid dream so one night I read through about ten journals before I went to bed. I had a good lucid dream that next morning.

It might work for you too.

What I'm going to say is going to make no sense. But whenever I have a dry spell I get stressed about it and it takes even longer for it to happen. So what I do to get out of the dry spell is not to think about having a lucid dream. I just keep writing my dreams down and for me; anyway, I get a lucid dream around a week later. I just let the LD naturally come back. The more stressed you get about not having one, the longer it will take.

I do the same thing as Erin. Whenever I have a dry spell, or my dream recall goes down a lot, I just forget about lucid dreaming. You've been concentrating too hard, and once you feel more relaxed about the dry spell, it will come back. Eventually.

I stopped my recent dry spell by looking under the post, "Training Your Memory and Awareness" on page 2. It had a link to somewhere called hypnotica.org. I clicked on that link and listened to it thru my headphones as I lay relaxed on my floor. I then took a vitamin with B6 in it right before I went to bed. I had a lucid dream that morning.

Yes, and am still in it. It's been two months now, I think.

For me, since I'm not big on RCs and DILD, it comes down to finding the motivation to practice MILD more, and WILD.

I tried this last night. I didn't had a Lucid Dream But I had an impresive dream recall and vividness in my dreams..
I dont now if it was a kind of placebo effect or it really worked.. I believe is was little bit of both...

If there are more suggestion please keep them coming..
THIS IS NOT ONLY FOR ME, THIS POST MAY HELP OTHER LUCID DREAMERS THAT HAVE THIS SAME PROBLEM.

      +good karma for your LD's..

      Cheers.

Recall and vividnes lead to lucidity - just keep at it, Ben, you're on the right path. Don't get too anxious or you'll block yourself again. It's gonna happen, just let it.

I don't want to be a jackass, which I am, but realize: half the people on this board have never had a lucid dream, and have been at it for months! If you're feeling blue as you're falling asleep, maybe that fact might make you feel better... I know it helps me sometimes.

As for actual actions to take, it's like the others have said: relax and be positive! I know it's REALLY hard to do that when you want something OH so bad, but seriously, LDing is a crazy Zen thing... You can only attain what you want by NOT wanting it, and just letting it come.

Tho', I should practice what I preach!

once again, erin and i are exactly alike... took the words right out of my mouth.

i was having a dry spell for a while too, and i just stopped thinking about it. still took several weeks, but i had one. sometimes, if i'm trying to MILD, i'll say to myself, "i'm going to have a LD tonight, but if i don't, it's ok". and try to be relaxed about it. may sound kinda weird, but it works sometimes to take the pressure off, so to speak.

Wow, this is helping me alot. Thanks for this topic, Ben. All I can say is meditate. I think it kinda worked for me earlier. (And I almost got a WILD out of it.) So it should work for you. Besides, I bet your more experienced.

Anyways, I hope I helped. Now I must go, for the Easter Bunny comes in the morning...

check out the "how to end a dry spell" on the tutorials section.. pretty good.
Currently practicing WILD. I quote Kaniaz who said it best: "The point of WILD is to piss me off". Though, I have not given up, far from it.
