sleep/dream walkers are people that walk while they sleep/dream.

Yeah, I'm almost 100% sure they do. Never seen one in person though...
It has something to do with their body not going into sleep paralysis for one reason or another.

They're dangerous to themselves pretty much. I mean, they could fall from the porch of a 10 story building and only wake up when they hear the "splash" sound.
As far as the myth goes that you shouldn't wake a sleep walker, well, here are a couple of excerpts from a quick search I did. Pretty interesting...

Fact: Some people assume that waking a sleepwalker will cause that person some sort of irreparable psychological damage, but generally it's felt that you can gently wake the person and lead him back to bed. The real danger is to the person awakening the sleepwalker, says Dr. Pawluk. Because the sleepwalker may become confused and feel threatened by the person who is trying to awaken him, the sleepwalker may lash out physically.[/b]
Myth #9: "You should never awaken a sleep walker."
This was once thought to be true, but recent research has revealed that, as long as it's done gently so as not to startle the sleeper more than necessary, it's all right to wake the person up and lead him back to bed. Learn the basics of sleepwalking so you can cope with the problem.[/b]
Which going back to question one, I can safely say that yes, sleepwalking does exist.

I think he is talking about some sort of bad spirits that could apparently invade yours dreams or somethign and sort of go into your life or some sort of thing like that, I could be wrong though maybe he was just talkin about sleep-walking.

Hmm I agree, I don't think he's talking about sleep walking. I did a google search on 'dream walkers' and I came across the following article.

      http://education.psinergy.info/v3/Online_M...efense_101.html

Apparently they are beings which feed from your 'dream energy'. Whether or not they're dangerous? taken from this article: "dream-walkers are neither good nor bad individuals" "Certain dream-walkers drain energy from individuals" "...ill-reputed dream-walker will exploit individuals by causing nightmares which accelerate energy drain."

I might have missed something, but basically the most dangerous thing they can do is cause nightmares which could leave you feeling 'drained' (so make sure you're not flying a plane the next morning). It doesn't sound like there are any crazy Freddy Kruger side effects, being possessed by dream demons or anything of that nature.

The whole concept sounds a bit iffy to me, I've never experienced or heard of anybody encountering something such like this.

far as i know dreamwalking is a technique where a person (or entity?) can dream with you... i would assume these things are only as dangerous as one allows them to be... personally my friend and i have always wanted to spar in a shared lucid dream, just to see who can do more radical shit... that and to see what'll happen.

      yes they exist

as far as danger goes... i'd have to say... only as much as an ordinary person (only when you piss 'em off) ?lol

      What the heck?

Yeah, what an interesting concept. I can see it now. Impossible beings, going from dream to dream, eating dream-energy, causing nightmares? What the fück?

That's like saying that our world is made by some devine being, sitting up in the sky, laughing at us, while he puts fake dinosaures in the underground, just to make us doubt him.

Nightmare on Elm Street, anyone? It's highly unlikely that such an entity could exist, outside of the subconscious.

Well if evil spirits could corrupt our dreams would assume good spirits could make appearances too..furthermore call it illogical or superstitious but maybe dreams could be some mysterious intersection between the living and the dead

This probably belongs in the beyond dreaming section.

Isn't dreamwalker just another term for shared dreamer? As in a person who can walk from one persons' dream to another? Guess the term could also allow for non-human dreamers.

I briefly recall similar thread when dv's originally began (term could have been night stalker..cant remember) i wouldnt consider it a shared dream if some other individual (or entity) manipulates scenario and psychologically terrorizes you..just my personal opinion, if there is afterlife..suppose anything is possible

Well, we are under new ownership these days... perhaps the rules have changed?

I'm personally amazed that people even find these decade-old dead threads, much less revive them; and even more amazed that after all these years ancient threads can still be necroed.

I personally love it when it happens.
Firstly, it can be top-notch entertainment value when someone speaks to a dude and expects an answer back.
Secondly, it's nice to peer so far into the past.
