Hey, do you think that if i just go straight to bed tonight and don't bother remembering or trying any induction techniques i could have a lucid dream, it worked in the past, i kept trying induction techniques, gave up to focus on my dream recall and i had a lucid dream that night, could i use this to my advantage to have lucid dreams if it works? I'm going to try again tonight, just wanted peoples opinions before trying, thanks

well my first lucid occurred during my pause time. When i stopped writing my dreams and thinking about it.
But it was the only one :)

sometimes it is better to take a break for a short while, like one or two days. if you try too hard to do anything, and it isn't working, it can get frustrating.

I stopped trying about a year ago after having one two or three, but I had one two nights ago for no reason (which is why I joined this forum,) so it's possible to have one without thinking about it.

lucid seeker, i think you are right ,because when i didnt know much of this and didnt try i had almost everynight.
but started to research and then got into this forum and started trying to get more and stuff like that , i got into a dry spell, but i will work at it.

during my pause time is the only time i've had a lucid..

I agree with what people have said so far, however it's a bit of a contradictory thing to do on purpose. You see, if you are purposely not focusing on LD'ing you are kind of thinking about not thinking about it. I think it's better to just keep doing what you're doing (techniques) and eventually you will go to bed one night without thinking about Ld'ing at all and then it should work.
