Hey, i've not been really paying much attention to lucid dreaming over the past week or two, i'm starting to not remember any dreams at all, i'm not having a moan, more of an unsure what to do moment, my exams, revision and coursework have been really persistant and i'm starting to wonder whether these past few months of work are a waste of time since i will have less time shortly to try lucid dreams, i maybe wouldn't mind as much if i knew i could lucid dream on maybe a fortnightly basis but i can't, i really truely suck at lucid dreaming and giving up all this for my exams seems like i'm going to have to put another 4 months of effort in after my exams to get back to where i was about a week or two ago, i'm getting stressed over lots of things like being bullied at school which doesn't add when it comes to the exam period, i'm dealing with it but at the end of a crap day all i want is a nice lucid dream to put me at ease, i read tons of posts on hereof people getting better with ease "oh i've had my 7th lucid dream" i've only had 3, i'm sure there are people who are finding it harder than me but i am truly unsure what i should do, i may be a little happier if my recall wasn't so bad, having a lucid dream seems so far away at this point in time and i feel really jealous of all you who "brag about your lucid skills" and have regular lucids, one lucid that lasts about an hour would keep me going for about a month, people are telling me that the lucid dreams will improve but what is there to improve when i can't even become lucid? All i can really offer on these forums at the moment is advice and posts where i plan on quitting but its getting to a stage where i really truely have had enough. It's like i'm trapped in a bubble that i can't pop no matter how hard i try :(

This post makes me sad. If you're planning to give up, please don't, at least for me, we've gotten to know each other in a way and share this in common. As for your problems in school, aw shit, I've had so much of this, and this is one great place to be for help. All of that sounds like a load of crap I know, but really, there are so many people all over the earth (i still can't get over that), that provide advice on this LD idea, however getting to know what a great guy you are, I'm sure everyone would be happy to offer advice on IRL topics, I know I would to the best of my ability :wink: One thing you MUST keep in mind, Your LD's can be as frequent or as sparse as you like. Over the past few nights I've had countless small negligable LD's, and some dreams where I know something is not quite right, and I may be dreaming. Take pleasure in the abilities of your mind. Sit in bed at night, and enjoy thinknig over your fresh dreams, I know I do. Kind of like "I wonder what my head has in store for me tonight, I'm gonna take charge" Lay back, relax, and just let your mind carry you off wherever it wants, and just know that You can carry into REM whatever you beleive you can. It all comes down to this. Forget all the fancy methods(I'm not putting down DV by any means), and stressful RC's. It's your head, you can become proficient in a night with beleif, its the god damn truth my friend, just don't stress, think more about your subconcious and dreams, and take time to go over them in your head, but in a recreational mindset, not one of stressing to have one. Real life comes first though. If I were to set out a plan for you (just an idea, that's all)
It would be this, since it sounds like your overwhelmed (I feel the same myself :( )
-Tell yourself, "LDing is an ability I have for good" (you do beleive it or not), and "I will lose no ability by breaking for a few months" This you may beleive will set your mind at ease.
-Deal with the bullying, since above all, no matter what any bullshitter says, this harms you. I would love to discuss ways to shove off this problem once and for all, beleive me, I will help, I've tried my share of this stuff, just PM me.
-Once you've managed to make the harrasment problem cease or lessen to a bearable degree, focus on coursework, again, not worrying about LD's and abilities, study for your exams or whatever other responsibilities you may have.
-Now your ready to return to concentrated LD time if you so choose (not reccomended), take it easy, and relax.
Most importantly remember: no one has the right to hurt you in any way.

You escape to your mind every night and you can enjoy this with just simple beleif, watch them like a movie and have confidence its all yours, and it takes a small amount of effort (nearly none) to truly become aware and take control.
Real life comes first, dreams are fun but as tempting as they might be, don't use them as an escape, recreation ok, but RL problems must be dealt with first. They will pass I assure you, yet focus on them first as painful as it might be, and then let your mind at ease with your dreams...
