people, I know this will sound dumb, and I probably ain't the only one

yesterday I read about a guy saying that he dreamt of his whole day, and actually when he woke up, he thought it was the day after.. I found it quite strange

then, like 30 min later, i have my first lucid... and I could see how sure I was that I wasn't in a dream, until the RC proved otherwise

you are sure you are awake when you're awake.... but you're also sure you are awake in a dream

this thing has been making me do reality checks every 5 mins, because I simply can't tell if I'm dreaming or awake anymore

I find this rather strange.. am I getting paranoid

      Relax.

Think about it. Isn't it much more difficult to determine you are dreaming than that you are awake? That's what we spend months and years learning to do, after all.

Take stock of where you are right now. Can you remember how you got there? Where you were an hour or a day ago? Can you connect these things? If you were dreaming, you probably couldn't.

The constant questioning would be a really positive thing in getting lucid again soon, if it wasn't scaring you. Know this - you could just stop right now and walk away from all of it if you wanted to. Just stop RCing and life will go right back to normal.

Or relish your success and prepare for more!

don't let it worry you, it can happen sometimes, if your doing RC's every 5 mins thats a bit overdoing it but its great for inducing your lucid dreams, i suggest you take it easy and don't let it bother you, you should be able to tell if your awake or not due to the level of awareness that separates both the dream world and waking life, dreams can be very real at times and can fool us into thinking we are wide awake, some advice, if your in a dream and it feels asthough your awake you should just let it run its course, if you really are very paranoid about this it may be an idea to take a few minutes out your day to think about your awareness, try and find something that separates your waking life and dream world, this will give them both a unique aspect that you will sure enough recognise and be able to determine each of them. Just don't let it make you paranoid.

I know had a dream which I dreamt of a whole day... started off with a false awakening and went off from there (unless it was me who you read about).

But the difference was though it was incredibly vivid, it wasn't lucid. I went about unwittingly in the dream, convinced it was a normal day of school. Nothing was strange about the frame of time, all the conversations were normal (the only one out of place was a small talk between a couple of kids on a bus ticket "Hey... where did you get that?" "I don't know... but its to the airbase" "Why the hell is a bus ticket to RAF base Odiham? No buses run past here anyway!"). Even got set homework to do. It was definitely quite a mind**** in the morning, first half-hour of the day, completely convinced it was a different day to what it actually was. Actually, if I can remember correctly, I was able to read stuff in the dream... since I was reading textbooks and making notes, and such, in fact, my 'reality check' was me looking into my homework diary, and checking for what I had written into the diary. Of course, all the stuff I had written in the dream wasn't there.

However, despite that, my sense of reality isn't skewed. Sure, it can be hard to tell at times, but it's all a matter of just getting used to doing reality checks whenever you are in doubt. I just try to get into the hang of it myself, so eventually I can get into lucid dreaming.

I experience this quite often. The whole waking day I'll be walking slowly and questioning anyone who talks to me. It's quite a strange feeling.

Even more strange is how meta-physics is saying that reality isn't real anyway. This also caused the same strange feeling, a video I watched in my Buddhist Traditions class calls "what the bleep do we know"

Anyway, I think the above suggestions are very good. I will often just go through the motions and find some sort of attachment to keep me sane. I often find it more difficult if I try to isolate myself.
      Besides....All is illusion

In sleep paralysis and false awakenings, I have a very hard time determining whether I'm awake or not, but when I'm fully awake I know for sure that I'm awake.

I woke up this morning, lying in my bed, picked up my cellphone from the floor, held it in my hand and it looked completely normal, then I closed my eyes for a few seconds. When I opened my eyes, the background logo on the cellphone looked all weird. I then put it down to the floor again, and dozed off to sleep.

I can't know for sure whether this event was real or not. Other than the cellphone's background getting slightly weird, everything looked completely real. But as I never have any doubts whether I'm awake or not in the mornings or had any hallucinations, I logically conclude that this was a false awakening.

      I find it really strange

my first lucid involved a false awakening, and man I can swear, I was 170% sure it wasn't a dream, until I had a second false awakening.. then I questioned myself.. then once again I think "shit man, somehting is wrong, I need to wake up".. I this "something is wrong" when I was "pretty sure" I was awake made me think twice, better, three times before I reailze I'm dreaming or not

by the way, I realized I always dream in the time between my father's alarm clock wakes me up and the time mama comes to wake me up (like 30-45 min).. maybe I should try a deild here, iot would help to differ a lucid dream from reality hehe

I ain't really bothered, it's just that poeple ask what I'm doing (when I RC), and it's really awkward to say "oh, I'm just testing to see if I'm dreaming!".. you get the view

anyways ty for the support everyone

what makes you so sure that what you think is reality is not a kind of a dream a more complex one.. I know It sounds cliché, but really think about it..how can you be so sure this isent true?.. what will happen after death? what happened before birth?.. all this questions really starts to pop out.. or just your simple "awarness" becomes a little trivial..

Buddhist understand this reality as a kind of dream , and you will be amazed of their concepts about this.look it up..

I dont really think this is bad at all..

Depends on your philosophy of life...
