Scary ass dreams possibly due to medicines, Yet I beleive this is gateway to LD's.

Hi fellow dreaming peples,

I would like to tell you about some of my experiences as f late with my dreams and ask a few things :

-Have you heard of this before with people on antidepressants?

-Is this a good way to become lucid?

-Should I supplement my difficulty relaxing in my dreams with some sort of sleep aid? or try to take advantage of my turbulent dream world?


I will now describe some of my :"Scary-ass dreams"

1) I am locked in a bathroom on 2nd story of my house, my family has perched my dog on outside to maul me if I try ot escape through my window. Terror ensues. I am trapped, my family has turned on me, my dog wants to kill me, im locked in this tiny bathroom. Soon I realize things are ok , and that I was building bandaids for my mom, (I have no idea what the f-ck that means). But the mood of the dream switched so quick.

2) I am taken away from my family and put into a replacement one, not like a foster family , but a family with some creepy bald man, releigeous in his own way, and 1 of 7 sybolings. The dream is all about me trying to escape and killing this man, and realizing that maybe I never had a normal family, and feeling trapped in the questions of existence. The whole world, was grim and dark, and I felt lke it was an alternate reality, one of only horrifically sick proportions, a world of sick perverts stealing children and religefying them. The funny (If you can call it that) was that when I had somehow succeeded in getting rid of this horrific man, I realized it had all taken' place in my house. And there were weird pipes with strange fluids getting pumped into the different floors of the house. ...:shock:

3) I am one of say 8 people taken captive by a group of sick thugs. For some reason they began to torture us. There were man times I would have tried to kill them had it not been for their vicious nature and watchful eyes. There was a point in time when all 8 of us found ourselves in a tank that was to fill with water and drown us. One was let go because his number was drawn out of a hat. These weirdass sadists took pleasure in watching it slowly fill with water, but then the scene swtiched. I find myself on my back lawn, in terror over this girl with a shotgun over me, she puts it down for some reason, and I jump at the chance, grap it , and fire at a guard watching over the fense (all at my own house!). I miss and am shot myself. I feel the wooziness, and wonder if I am dead, and soon I find myself running out in front of my house trying to draw attention to the fact that There are killers and criminals terrorizing us, and some people next door accuse ME of being a killer, this was the last straw, I basically felt myself float up to the sky and fly over all the problems while everyone was accusing me of killing...By this time I knew I was dreaming, to a very small extent, however, I woke into the same sequence for of 5 times before waking in reali life...scary stuff my friends...

Thoughts? anything is welcome, I had to get this weird stuff off my chest. In a weird way though I don't want these dreams to stop, they are so real, and I feel so intrigued by the content.

Again, here are my main concerns...

- Have you head of people before with this problem on antidepressants?
-Is this a good way to become lucid?
-Should I supplemement my difficulty relaxing in my dremas with some sort of sleep aid? or try to take advantage of the dream world?
-Have you had any similar dream experiences?

hey bro, how you doin? well to answer some of your questions, i think you could use it to your advantage but i wouldn't recommend it, you should just take your dreaming slowly, don't rush it or try and skip steps, the thing that puts me off this idea you have of using the anti-depressants to help induce lucid dreams is that you could get addicted to them simply because you want a lucid dream, i don't want you taking an overdose, maybe i'm taking it to the extremes, i wouldn't recommend it, when you need to take the anti-depressants try it then but don't make a habit of it, in fact i need to speak to you about getting off them anti-depressants, good luck though, it isn't my descision, i can only advise you.

Thanks for your feedback Lucid seeker. Well, yes, I am not becoming addicted to try and get lucid dreams, since I beleive I have become a bit more in touch with my dreams anyway. But I defienetly can undersand your concerns. We'll have to talk this over on MSN. My main concern was the disturbing content of the dreams, yet this can be taken advantage of. Maybe in every uncomfortable situation I'm in I will examine my reality and, maybe one day find myself within my own head.

LOL i see u live in nj:p it's nothing though:D not trying to scare ya lol but try and take some cough drop or something like vicks lol before going to sleep...lol i could imagine u taking some expired fever medicine:D

My friend takes Anti-Depressants and has mentioned the fact the he has bizzare and strange dreams while on them so yes I have heard of this although he didn't go into detail he just left it at that.

-Is this a good way to become lucid?
Yes actually this could be a very way to become lucid if you notice all of these strange occurrences and oddities this would be a fantastic way to become lucid, but you would have to recognize all these weird things and try to do something you could only do in a dream.

What do you mean by this? Should you get a medication to help you fall asleep? Mixing Anti-Depressants with other medications would seem to me like more of a strain on the body however there are natural things that can help you relax like Incense or Melatonin that you may want to give a try.

-Have you had any similar dream experiences?
Yes I have had some scary dreams were the chances of me being injured/harmed/murdered have all been present the sense of impending doom and that something bad could happen at any moment. I won't go into details but I will say I have had somewhat similiar experiences.
