WILD and wait time?
Hey, i read a recent post about WILDing when you first go to bed and i thought i'd give it a try tonight, i have a few questions, the furthest i've ever got was my whole body being numb but i could easily get out of it, what will i experience? Will i go into SP and stay like that until my REM period starts and will i then begin to see HI? Just curious, oh and what do i do when i get to HI? Do i ignore them and focus on having a lucid dream? thanks alot

Ick. WILDing when you first go to bed will take forever. Waiting until later at night makes your NREM shorter, and your REM longer. Who wants to stay still for two hours for only a few minutes of dreaming?
I wouldn't try to move until you are in a dream. 'Checking' to see if you have SP will quickly bring you out of whatever SP was forming.
I say watch the HI. It means you're closer to a successful WILD! But watch from a distance, always thinking 'this is only HI.' Concentrating too hard on ignoring HI or concentrating too hard on not letting your thoughts drift can be counter-productive.

if you wild when you first go to bed its going to take you roughly 90 min to even get into the dream. and that first rem period is only 10 min long so your lucid will be increadibly short, and you are going to have a hard time relaxing because you wont be tired. Just do a wbtb it makes wilding easier

thanks alot for the replies, ok i have one more question, when ever i get up after 5-6 hours of sleep it takes me ages to get back to sleep, i'll lie there for nearly 2 hours and get nothing sometimes and my eyes start feeling really weird and i can feel them pressing against my eyelids which makes me want to open them, whats the best way to get to make my body fall asleep when trying a WBTB or a WILD? I'm out of options, should i get up earlier? what do you suggest?

adjust your wbtb time. maybe get up after 4 1/2 hours of sleep and stay up for only like 5-10 min. If that doesnt work than adjust it again. it just takes practice
